Methuselah 291 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 Sure thing. Have you ever read a medieval novel? (as in one that was actually written during the middle ages)

Methuselah 291 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 I read The Inferno, book one of three of The Divine Comedy. It's actually a medieval epic poem, not a novel (epic poem as in an actual epic, not the slang term). It was written in the early 1300s and takes place in the year 1300. The author is the main character and he goes on a tour of hell. The tour guide is Virgil, a real life Roman poet who lived during the 1st century BC. I have to say, the whole thing was... boring as hell. I can hardly even think of any other medieval novels. There's The Canterbury Tales, The Tale of Genji, and Beowulf. I think they might all technically be narrative poems. They're all European except The Tale of Genji, which was written in Japan a thousand years ago. I haven't read any of those. 1 hour ago, Feather Scribbles said: Your thoughts on Steampunk? I've never cared one way or another about it.
