Does no one go gaga over gargoyles?

Batponies always seem to be on people's minds, no matter the time of year. But what about gargoyles?  Did everyone just forget about Scorpan, and how he had befriended Starswirl? What about the rumors that we'll be seeing him in season 9,  given the things that happened in season 8's finale? There's SO much that we don't know about gargoyles.  Are they rivals or friends with cockatrice's, since they share the same turning to stone ability?  Are gargoyles allies with Batponies, who are also a night species? How do interspecies relationships work, since the comics show us that Scorpan's dad and brother (Tirek) are centuars, while Scorpan and his mom are gargoyles?   Will we see more of Scorpan and Starswirl's friendship in the modern day?

What would you guys like to learn more about the gargoyle species?

It's not that people forgot about gargoyles, they're just a very little known part of the MLP lore that only the comics have talked about so far. And they've only talked about them briefly at that. Even the show itself did not directly address Scorpan as a gargoyle. :maud:

We don't know if the gargoyles in the show will do that. The powers of creatures in folklore vary.

regardless of whether they're from the comics or not, they're still official source material under the brand.
