Would watching the episodes all in once change the impression?

Watching the new episode everytime it releases (old fans) vs Watching the missed episodes all stacked up and watch them at once (newcomers)

Would there be the difference between those two of how someone would like the show more or less? I noticed that I started to watch MLP when season 7 was airing and I catched up in the middle of the season. I watched season 8 every week when the new episode got aired. And my impression of the show is that season 8 is the worst written, directed, planned season. I also noticed that old fans criticized lots of old seasons that I have almost no problem with it. Are newcomers more generous about old seasons they missed? Are people more critical when they are watching the new episode every week? Would this effect how much someone would like the show? I still believe season 8 is bad, but would it be even slightly effected by what I just said? What's your thoughts?

No season 8 just sucks. There are some gems in it. Like the sound of silence, what lies beneath, breakup breakdown, hearths warming club. But that's it, most the others are poorly written and out of character.

I started when season 5 was live, binge watched all that Netflix could offer, then had to wait around till new episodes came out. I do prefer binge ponies. But there is some excitement to waiting for the new ones. Waiting while season 7 was building up to its finally was exciting. Love the pillars, season 8 ruined them, except starswirl his return ruined him.

I started while season 2 was airing. Something I find while binge-watching a show is that one, it can sort of blend together, and two, lulls in quality are easier to get past. Whereas watching the show live, over the course of months, gives you a lot of time to think about it if it's not satisfying you. Seasons 5 and 7, and to a lesser extent 8, were so exasperating to me in part because I kept tuning in week after week only to be bored out of my mind. I don't think binge-watching would save season 8, though, because its flaws are much too obvious to ignore. And if I had binged later, I might not have immediately picked one season out as clearly inferior, just because it would all become a jumble in my mind.
