KillerKingBakudan 702 December 10, 2018 Share December 10, 2018 That shouldn't be the case. The term has always carried this negative connotation, and is most often used as a blanket term to describe a ship people don't like. I can understand labeling a pairing between characters that truly is ridiculous as crack: such as, I don't know... Rarity X Snails. But to call something a crack ship because the characters have never met or interacted before? How does that work? By that logic, people are engaged in "crack marriages" if they didn't already know each other prior to dating. I'm not gonna point at a couple and say their relationship is dumb just because they weren't classmates, or friends of a friend, or swimming partners or whatever. If they have common interests or complimenting personalities, that means there's potential. Shouldn't that be enough? Because you never know what can happen if they DO meet. No questions asked. Buck Testa 5,505 December 10, 2018 Share December 10, 2018 Crack Ships more often than not are meant as jokes. They aren't meant to be plausible or be based on things like character interaction or even common interests. Their entire point is to be funny or off the wall or random. What defines a crack ship isn't just that they haven't spent a lot of time together, its that the very IDEA of them being together is enough to make you do a double take and maybe laugh. Pairs well with crossover fics, as crossover pairings can be even sillier. 1 http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Billy%20G%20Gruff http://billyggruff.deviantart.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPVpSXbUpDYTcaFHTPiPjYA
JuxtaposedJinty 2 February 6, 2019 Share February 6, 2019 Crack ships are just not meant to be taken seriously(at least most of them) personally, I don't find it funny, Crack ships are just weird
