ManaMinori 4,149 January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 We see the brand of MLP pushing more at adults from time to time...the intro of a few adult-sized clothing, makeup brands, and collectable figures that are meant for spectacle on the shelf rather than playtime. How can Hasbro improve marketing to the adult fans of MLP in generations to come? Can you guys see the brand ever leaning specifically to adults- and how could it, if it did? 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Concerned Bystander 2,905 January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 As much as it pains me to say this they could certainly take a leaf out of Disney's book. For all their many flaws Disney have managed to successfully market to an adult audience for many years, in things like clothing, collectibles and homeware. Of course Disney has a far deeper penetration into that market, and they have the capital (both financial and social) to be able to invest in products aimed at an older market whereas Hasbro have a much smaller adult market that probably doesn't warrant the same level of investment.
SharpWit 2,872 January 28, 2019 Share January 28, 2019 Disney can also appeal through nostalgia. A lot of adult favorites came out when they were kids. If you saw a 30 year old guy wearing a frozen shirt, that could come off as weird. See a guy wearing anything from the renaissance period or early, most people won't bat an eye. MLP doesn't have that same sort of nostalgia. Yes there are plenty of fans from the older series but nowhere near as many for the current. Given enough time we won't be seen as such an oddity.
