Marketability of past gen merch

I see a lot of g4 fans saying that g1 merch doesn't sell, when I posed the question of whether WeLoveFine should hop on the g1 merch bandwagon, and many of these  fans were completely  oblivious to the fact that g1 merch is selling- well enough, in fact, that g1 Mashems have been made, and that the company, Basic Fun/ Bridge Direct has been making g1 retro ponies since the franchise's 35th anniversary, and are in their 5th or 6th line of retro ponies- one of which was recently displayed at the 2019 Toy Fair. This proves that there are enough past gen pony collectors and fans out there buying the merch. Should more companies be getting in on this, do you guys think, while the nostalgia desire is high?

I want companies to continue to sell G1s along with the other generations if possible. They might not make as much money as the G1s, but I know that a few people would want something like G2s and G3s.
