FlareGun45 2,221 November 2, 2019 Share November 2, 2019 Remember in The Last Problem when Twilight was so sad about leaving her friends? Well, Spike didn't cry due to the fact he's leaving HIS friends too! Gabby? She only goes to Ponyville to deliever updates on Gallus. Starlight? Busy at the school. Smolder? Busy at the school. Big Mac? Has a wife and is busy at the farm. Would he travel all the way to Canterlot for O&O? He already doesn't see Ember or Thorax that much due to being leaders of their respectable nations! Twilight sees her friends once a month, but what about Spike's non-Mane 6 friends? How come he wasn't upset? Can he go to Ponyville whenever he wants since he's only an advisor? This post is for BEFORE the time jump, before he became ambassador - like let's say for season 10, so I hope we a comic that covers this.
BastementSparkle 20,328 November 3, 2019 Share November 3, 2019 At least in the case of Big Mac, I'd like to point out that O&O nights also involve Discord. There is no need for "Travelling" when one of your game players can warp you to the other side of the universe with a mere snap if he feels like it. Other than that, this is a pretty good point. Spike is leaving behind all of his friends just as much as Twilight is, though at least from what we saw it wasn't affecting him the same way it was Twilight, maybe because Twilight and her friends tend to always be around each other, while Spike is a bit more used to not always being around his friends? The Mane Six are a bit more of a tightly-knit group, where as all of Spike's other friends are more mostly one-on-one relationships he has. 1 Twilight is best pony. Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?
Ittoni 538 November 3, 2019 Share November 3, 2019 (edited) Because the staff doesn't care about Spike and he has to get the shortest end of the stick every time. I'm joking...But seriously, I actually think that in this case Spike, of all people, is the one that has matured way better and faster than any other of the cast and that's why you see him not concerned about his departure from ponyville, I bet he already has it resolved while twilight is behaving like he should at his age (yeah, dragons have different lifespans but he's still a baby and still more mature than her). I don't blame him, I understand you Spike, when you have a parent figure that is more of a child than you you end up taking care of them and becoming the adult that has to solve problems, teach them things and have the head cool for it, like you suggesting twilight solutions and presenting options while she's just crying and making a tantrum about it.
