I found out about MLP Forums from my Father, Jeric.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony

I became a fan the same time as my father, Jeric. I started watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic when my family was going through a rough patch. It seemed like a cute cartoon I could play to brighten the mood when the house felt dark and lonely. Eventually though, my dad started casually watching with me while he was working on his laptop. While at first he seemed to just be humoring me, he started to actually enjoy the lighthearted moments and playful songs. I remember him messaging me one day while he was at work saying how he was being brainwashed by a purple haired unicorn and her ear worm of a song. 
 

I never once would’ve guessed that one decision would’ve made such an impact on his life. Because of this show and wonderful community, my dad found lifelong friendships and created dozens of joyful memories.
