The Leaves Throwing Lounge

Talk about anything you'd like, but you can only react with throwing leaves .

This may be understood as a brohoof gesture, throwing leaves at someone, whatever you wish.

The leaves are turning red, the canopy a warming hue

But falling amidst the streetlights, I see another view.

For one by one they fall, and in the dark of night they vanish

One by one we all, follow suit to that void ever famished.

Silently they drift along, forgotten lest their tannins stain the stony path

Until that harrowing song, is bellowed by the beast upon the tracks.

It welcomes us aboard, when the time has come

Entrance is assured, but the exit is only reserved for some.

Pointed ears and slitted eyes, look and listen with kneading paws

When one steps towards the line, giving the others pause.

Surely it's not your time to go, there's more for you to see?

I've been told that is so, and that is why they provided a window seat.

But what of chasing mice? Sunbathes? Scritchy scratches from those who adore?

Those are all very nice, but life had something else in store.

Surely when you're gone, you'll be terribly missed?

By a great many, but love doesn't stop with the final cuddle, nor the last kiss.

In their hearts through tear strewn eyes, a part of me is with them.

You're awfully wise they say, for such a little kitten.

That's a thought as the train goes by, cars and windows a blur

I think of that sweet boy when he was by my side as the tracks hum and purr.

Was thinking about this recently as well Time to petition bringing back the leaves, else we will find our own leaves to throw at people . Perhaps once the running of the leaves event is over?
