The first Equestria Girls movie reminds me of the first SpongeBob movie because Twilight and Spike have to go retrieve a stolen crown like SpongeBob and Patrick, and Sunset Shimmer mind controls everyone in Canterlot High like Plankton mind controls everyone in Bikini Bottom. I know this comparison has been made before, but it’s also similar to another cartoon movie I love, Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension. If you think about it, Twilight and Spike travel to another dimension and meet alternate dimension versions of their friends, just like Phineas and Ferb.
