Gamernerd717 10 December 25, 2024 Share December 25, 2024 Found this entry on the “Character Perception Evolution/Western Animation” page on TV Tropes. I personally don’t care for DT or her redemption(in fact, I despise both of those things), but what about you?
SharpWit 2,673 December 25, 2024 Share December 25, 2024 I think I would've preferred them building up to it. Having an episode where they have a group project and it's not going well until they learn to work together. All parties are happy at the end, but Daimond makes it clear despite their success, they still aren't friends, and we end with say Applebloom rolling her eyes while smiling. If we shoved in two more that follow a similar formula of mild improvement, then I think we could fully justify the change. Forgetting to use characters after completing primary story arcs is definitely a big issue, not just in MLP. Perhaps they could continue the rivalry with the CMC, but on a friendlier level? More along the lines of Applejack and Rainbow during the Running of the Leaves. Plenty of shenanigans, but friends at the end. 1

My biggest problem is the fact that Spoiled Rich’s sudden existence came out of nowhere, and it seemed like a flimsy excuse to justify DT’s actions when episodes like Flight To The Finish exist.

Dreambiscuit 9,843 January 1 Share January 1 I have always been critical of the abrupt and poorly-written conversions of villains in MLP. Most are way to abrupt and unconvincing, but in Diamond Tiara’s case I didn’t get that impression. Maybe in terms of screen time it was quick, but it was done better than most in my opinion, and made of one of my favorite episodes ever. It felt real to me, for whatever reason. Cozy Glow, on the other hand, somehow got away without going through the arbitrary apology machine and, punished or not, knew what she was doing and the consequences of them. Diamond was just a snotty pony with a superiority complex more than being evil, so I wouldn’t really compare either pony based on crime versus punishment.
