So i got a Question regarding Villain Threat levels.

Why is it that when the ponies and other races of the pony world face off against the villains and their forces, it's a huge struggle for them but when said villains are pitted against us Humans, defeating them is a cakewalk?

Like in the series finale, they had to use every one of their allies to defeat the legion of doom and in one of the alternate timelines from "The Cutie Re-Mark" Equestria was stretched to near breaking-point during the war against Sombra that it was slowly losing.

Like if we handled the situation, the battle would be one-sided and we'd easily crush their campaign on conquest before they could even know we're coming.

And there's also the times that Equestria and other nations surrender like a bunch of spineless cowards to some of these villains and yet for us, we won't and would just retaliate immediately. Like in the prequel comic, Abyssinia easily surrendered to the storm king and in "The beginning of the end" Cadence and Shining Armor easily surrendered to Sombra. Where were their spines when that happened?

like if they tried intimidating us into surrendering, they become surprised when we don't immediately bow to them and instead menacingly approach and surround them, boom-sticks in hand.

Why is it so hard for them but so easy for us? They're such a big threat to Equestria but to us, but aren't to us for a variety of reasons.

Firstly, the strength of the United States Military would be extremely hampered if it could only operate at a TV-Y rating.

Second, and strictly for the war against Sombra, his use of mind control is such a devastating attack on morale. Every one of his soldiers is fighting against their will, and are just as much a victim to his cruelty as every defeated Equestrian. Worse still, everyone you were fighting alongside yesterday who happened to be captured, you'll be fighting tomorrow.

Queen Chrysalis in MLP fiction has many abilities at her disposal from energy based attacks, to shapeshifting, and even draining others of their energy. If she had been more strategic in her attack she could have taken over Equestria easily. Her going easy on Twilight Sparkle and numerous other reasons are the why Chrysalis ended up losing in A Canterlot Wedding.

Changelings would not be easy to identify if they took the form of another without others knowledge though, for the same reason Princess Celestia was initially unaware of the ruse when Chrysalis impersonated Cadance. They may not copy powers and abilities of others they shapeshift into, but they copy their physical form 1 to 1, giving them sufficient cover for a stealth operation which should not be underestimated.

While real life military would be superior in numbers and technological advancement, the problem here is humans are also reckless, and they start wars for stupid reasons, like one country wanting to annex another. And people support divisive individuals who tear up international relations. So we're not the best at everything, far from it. And ego is our greatest weakness and is causing most of the problems we are seeing in the world right now.

That is one reason why I believe Queen Chrysalis to be much more dangerous than some people may give her credit for. Her ruthlessness is nerfed by plot armour of the show, but put that fictional character into a real life scenario and that changes, drastically, it's not just her magic people would need to worry about in that fantasy world scenario, it's her manipulative behaviour, which in my opinion could lead to disaster for our world if she was underestimated.

I will save the political stuff for Twilight Soapbox section of the forum. But it should be noted that there is very good reason to believe, had Chrysalis been real and entered our timeline, she would have made conflict 10 times worse, all she has to do, is impersonate somebody else and then manipulate one of our incompetent leaders to start a war with another nation. I don't have much faith in humans tbh.

@Dawnshine Wonder

We've even seen Twilight be ruthless in "Too Many Pinkies". If she can take out a room of ponies that all happen to be slightly more annoying versions of one of her best friends, who knows what she's capable of when unleashed. Maybe her magic blasts weren't as strong while fighting the Changelings, or their armored carapice has some magic deflecting capabilities, but if she wants you gone, you're gone.

That assumes they were destroyed, they could have been Copies of Pinkie Pie that were merged back into Pinkie Pie's being after a spell gone wrong was corrected. They were already supposed to be part of Pinkie Pie herself, so having multiple different versions of her split out was an unnatural phenomenon to start with, from some kind of magic water she found. Pinkie Pie was not supposed to be there.

Magic is certainly capable of offing someone in MLP FIM though, like what Starlight Glimmer did to Discord in season 8 episode A Matter of Principles. Discord got turned into a ghost, meaning Starlight Glimmer's magic somehow nullified both Discord's immortality and killed him. Starlight Glimmer has got quite a temper, but to be fair, Discord did make her fearful for the safety of the school students with his antics, Discord still kind of acts like a jerk sometimes, even after his reform.

Turns out their intent was that the clones were turned back into magical energy that returned to the mirror pool and nothing more, according to Meghan McCarthy. I would still argue that there's a disturbing level of callous towards their sentience, and that's reinforced by the one remaining clone's reaction we see in, season 6, episode 9, The Saddle Row Review. Sure they seemed to lack individuality, especially as the clones deteriated in quality from copies of copies, but little can be said from the actions of an afternoon flash mob, and we dont usually have a grasp on our mortality for quite some time after we're born, justifying the level of naivety to witnessing each others "destruction", so I think the jury's still out.

But now the mirror pool begs a different question. I'm willing to bet most villains would end up fighting their own clones if they had access to the mirror pool, but if all you need is drones, then this serves as particularly dangerous with Sombra and Chrysalis in mind. An army could be raised in mere minutes.

I don't suppose people who created the show thought that part through, that could have proven to be a very dangerous weapon for villains in the show.
