OverTheStars 244 April 1 #1 Share April 1 Just wanting to get to know the other members of the club! I'll go first: I was probably around 9-10 years old when my sister was telling me about this new game all her friends at school were playing on their school laptops. At that point in time in our middle school it was common for kids to pirate games (NOT CONDONING btw, pls support game devs, especially indie devs), download them to flash drives, and pass them around to each other so they could all play. My favorite thing in the world was to watch her play these games, so when she brought home Undertale and told me how cool it was, I was really excited. Every night after our parents went to bed (we'd get in trouble if they found out she was not only pirating but playing on her school laptop), we would sit at her desk and I'd watch her play. It's a really nostalgic memory for me and I think it's why I latched on so hard to the game. As for Deltarune, I actually thought it was a fangame at first, so I didn't really seek it out since I didn't really play a lot of fangames. I eventually did realize it was official though and played both chapters.
Mothra 724 April 1 #2 Share April 1 The first time I saw someone on youtube playing Undertale, I thought it was actually a horror game. It was the part right after you exit the ruins and end up in a snowy wooded area, being followed by something and a shadowy figure starts to creep up behind you. Little did I know that it was the funny bone man I'd been seeing images of for weeks by that point. I finally got context when I played it myself months later and loved every second of it. As for Deltarune, I was told by a friend that it was Toby's next official game and couldn't wait to download it, way back when it was still known as "Survey Program" (imo, when Deltarune is finished, I think I'll love it more than Undertale which I already love)

I've finished Deltarune and started Undertale (yes, I went out of order, I didn't want to pay lol), and I cannot tell you how addicted I was to Deltarune. SPOILER: DO NOT READ THIS NEXT PART UNLESS YOU HAVE FINISHED CHAPTER 2 OF DELTARUNE OR WANT IT TO BE SPOILED: Reveal hidden contents I spent like 2 weeks trying to beat Giga Queen, and it's been the only thing that has ever made me rage in a game. However, even though it was so infuriating, I loved it so much that I intentionally quit the game without reaching a save point so that I could replay it. The Giga Size, Powers Combined, and Knock You Down soundtracks are 👌 On 2025-04-01 at 4:25 PM, Mothra said: The first time I saw someone on youtube playing Undertale, I thought it was actually a horror game. I can see why both seem like horror games, but once you give them a shot they appeal to every single kind of person. Toby has officially confirmed that Deltarune Chapter 3 (and possibly 4) will be released this year, and some think that the official paid version will be released and the Demo will continue to support only Chapters 1 and 2. I also read somewhere that it's going to be $20 USD, althought I'm not sure on that as well.
