Acinonyx 888 May 25 Share May 25 So I was checking out notification settings and I noticed these options: I'm not convinced these are such a good idea, might lead people to think that someone has personal issues with them and lead to bad blood between members when the reason doesn't need to be that deep and may lead to people feeling like they can't reject it without fear of potentially offending someone. It'd be kinda like if you got a notification that someone put you on the ignore list, it doesn't really serve a good purpose. 7
Sparklefan1234 177,257 May 25 Share May 25 I don't like them either. Getting either of those notifications makes me feel like I did something wrong or that they're REALLY mad at me. 1 1
Administrator Ice Princess Silky <3 16,887 May 29 Administrator Share May 29 Notifications of unfriending on a friendship website?! Spoiler All (my) melodrama aside, I believe this is valid feedback. 3
Rikifive 24,656 May 29 Share May 29 And here I've been wondering if it would be a good idea to make it send notifications to literally everyone, saying who unfriended who to make the entire community be like for doing illegal actions towards the magic of friendship. jk Not a fan of that either, comparing it to adding someone to ignore list is accurate. It should be gone, I have disabled, and removed these notifications from the settings. 2 1 ❤ ■■■■■■■■■■ ⭐ ■■■■■■■■■■
Administrator Ice Princess Silky <3 16,887 May 29 Administrator Share May 29 Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I may have already disabled it some... two years ago? Because users were getting anxiety about it. I remember asking @Sparklefan1234 if he could relate to such concerns and I believe we ended up testing it together with me asking him if it worked. Am I remembering this incorrectly? Also @Acinonyx did you, personally, notice that an unfriending would notify the user (or were you notified) or was it just a settings feature you had noticed and commented about?

Didn't witness it happen personally, I was just wondering if the forum had a setting like that and went looking and found it. I see. So.. you have caused me to faint.. unnecessarily so.. because you were... snooping... as usual.. in the restricted area? Careful... Next time, I will just bring my trusty trusty lounge chair to faint on! In either case, thank you for the feedback and for caring about fellow community members.

I do believe I had disabled something in this regard sometime back because it seemed unappealing for a friendship forum.
Administrator Ice Princess Silky <3 16,887 June 3 Administrator Share June 3 Alright. Who wants to be the pony guinea pig. Let me send you a friend request -- or send one to be -- so that I can reject it and see if it notifies you... OR THE ENTIRE FORUMS -- of unfriending -- because that is exactly what we need. Unecessary Drama. Just kidding on the last part. But serious on the first part. O wait.. or was it reversed? Ahem! Just send me a friend request and let us see.
