I haven't seen the 80s version, but honestly I doubt that was better than G4. G4 would have wayy better animation and voice acting and music. I'm sure that almost everyone is going to say that G4 is better though :P

Wait...

Remember without the 80s version we wouldnt have Rainbow Dash and AppleJack.

Would this really change anything XD. G4 is wayyyyy better.

Yeah, I just started watching a minute of it. It's awful so far. Maybe it's aged badly?

This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?

Yeah I think the G4 series is better but we have to thank the 80s version for AppleJack and Rainbow Dash and other characters

I don't think that we have to really thank the older generations as really it was an advertisement for the toys.

The characters themselves aren't important. I mean I wouldn't care if Twilight didn't exist as Twilight. If everything was changed about her, I wouldn't care as long as she had the fantastic writing behind her as well as the fantastic personality. So I don't think that the 80s deserved any credit for introducing any characters.

I guess your right its not about the characters its about the brilliant script and animation. I didn't even know that Rainbow Dash and AppleJack were in the 80s series untill a couple of weeks ago.

I actually kind of like the 80's (G1) version. It wasn't bad for its time. If you'll give it a chance you'll see that it's not super girly like you might expect. It actually has some plot, (no, not that kind of plot  ) action, and violence. It's the G3 and G3.5 versions you want to stay away from.

As far as which one is better, G1 or G4 (FiM), the obvious answer is G4. That's what we're all here for, right?

G1 is cute. Remember without it we wouldn't have G4 or G5!!

I do kinda prefer mlp nowadays though. (But also kinda like My Little Pony Tales. It looks cute too lol)
