"So, I get that the electricity, whatever it is, gets to these vehicles through the wires. But where does it come from in the first place?" Cozy Glow asked, curious how the new technology works.

"A party? That should be interesting. I wonder who will attend it..." She ignored Luster Dawn's attitude for now, not wanting to start another argument about fun and its meaning in a pony's life.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable in this situation, Cozy Glow thought what should happen next. "So, what are we going to do now, Princess Twilight? Maybe you can give a speech to the students explaining why I'm here, or something like that?"

In the channel, there is a turbine that the water spins, which converts its kinetic energy into electrical energy," Twilight explained.

"Before I answer that, let's find someplace a little more private," Twilight replied. She glanced around the campus, and upon seeing an empty classroom, she led the way towards it. Once the group was inside and Twilight closed the door for privacy, she continued. "Well when you asked to take a look around here, did you just want to take a look around, or did you intend on reapplying to our school?" Twilight asked. "Because your intention here would affect my explanation to others," Twilight explained.

But if you want to be friends and go to the school together, then I can give it a chance. But in addition to the normal School of Friendship curriculum, I want to learn about the more advanced stuff too, I mean the kind of things you're learning," she looked at Luster Dawn expectantly, hoping they would be able to study the more advanced topics together.

Luster Dawn rolled her eyes at this when Twilight wasn't looking.

"Flurry, Luster, I know that you both go to different schools, and both of you think your school is better, but please don't fight about this. I love both schools, and I love both of you," Twilight said to her two pupils.

She then turned her attention to Cozy Glow. "Yes, it is true that my two pupils here go to two different schools, with Flurry going to the School of Friendship, and Luster going to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns," she replied, pointing at her two pupils sitting beside her with her two wings. "They think they are subtle when they try to fight each other over various things like this without me noticing. I notice. I just try to not let it upset me."

"But back to you, Cozy. You wouldn't be able to apply to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, but you can reapply to the School of Friendship. However, I didn't bring the option up to you right away because the students here would know about you and your history. I think that there is an important friendship lesson to keep in mind when deciding to apply here. In fact, consider it your first one, from me to you. Here is a notebook and a pencil," Twilight said as she pulled out a notebook and pencil with the School of Friendship emblem from the supplies drawer and handed it to Cozy Glow.

"Students at the School of Friendship are going to be aware of you and what you did. We are not going to change what we teach here if you choose to attend because we must always strive to be objective and transparent. While we will intervene if any student harasses or bullies another student, it is up to the other students to decide whether they forgive or trust you. Some students will choose to never forgive you for what you did. Other students will forgive you, but won't trust you. Others still will forgive you and trust you. In order for other students to trust you, they must first forgive you, both of these are dependent on what you do and how they view you. Should you choose to reapply to the school, I can give the other students a speech. However, what you do matters a lot more than what I say. Keep this in mind as you decide what you do here," Twilight explained to Cozy Glow.

Cozy Glow took some time to think about all the things Twilight said to her. The fact that Flurry and Luster were going to different schools was a bit unexpected, because she assumed that if Twilight would want to create a circle of friends, she would make them go to the same school. The reality was a bit more complicated though.

Then she made her decision and answered with a determined look on her face. "I'm aware of the possible reactions of the students to me, and I want to take that risk and reapply to the School of Friendship. But I still want to study these advanced subjects too! Perhaps I can meet with Luster Dawn regularly and discuss the things she's learning with her?"

"I guess we could do that," Luster Dawn sighed. It seemed she wasn't enthusiastic about the idea.

"Alright, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to lead you to Headmare Starlight's office so she can get you registered. While you are getting everything sorted out there, I will inform the students and the staff here about you joining," Twilight explained. 

"Oh, can I help you? Maybe we can split up the explaining. I can explain to the students, and you can explain to the staff since this school is so large," Flurry Heart chimed in. 

"That sounds like a plan," Twilight answered Flurry before turning to Cozy Glow. "Any comments, questions, objections? If not, let's go."

"Looks like I'm not needed here. I'm just gonna study here unless somebody kicks me out..." Luster said, sitting down at the teacher's desk and pulling out her study materials with a flash of magic. 

Unless Cozy Glow had something else to say, Twilight would lead the way to Headmare Starlight's office while Flurry Heart split off to talk to students. As the pair made their way through the halls once more, there would be more staring and whispering as the students saw Cozy Glow pass by.

"Twilight!" Starlight greeted with excitement as Twilight entered through the door. The pair hugged each other before Starlight continued. "Back so soon?"

"Yeah, so it turns out Cozy Glow wants to reapply to our school. I think we should get Sunburst here so we can discuss things between the three of us."

With a flash of magic, Sunburst appeared, and a sound-blocking magic bubble appeared around the three of them before they started talking. Cozy Glow wouldn't be able to hear what they were talking about, but she could tell that they were talking from seeing their mouths move.

If Cozy Glow looked around the office during that time, she would notice that it was primarily composed of pastel purples. Large windows lined one side of the room, and on the opposite side were several bookshelves. There were plenty of potted plants placed throughout the room and several kites hung from the ceiling. 

After several minutes of what appeared to be back and forth, the trio nodded together. Sunburst teleported away with a flash of magic, and the bubble dissipated. After that, Twilight would leave the office while Starlight gestured to Cozy Glow to take a seat at her desk. 

"Hello Cozy Glow, let's get you registered. What do you hope to learn here?" Starlight asked as she pulled out tons of papers using her magic. She gave Cozy a gentle yet slightly nervous smile.

"Hello Starlight, it's nice to see you again," Cozy Glow said with a bright smile. "Sorry about trapping you in that bubble back then, I promise it won't happen again."

As for answering the question, she had no precise plan yet, but she remembered what Twilight said to her when she defeated her for the first time. "Well, apparently I was wrong about friendship, so I hope to learn how it really works, and what I should do to be a truly good friend." She thought it would be a good explanation why she wanted to reapply to the school, although she wasn't sure it was what she was really going to do.

"Also I want to enjoy all the fun activities with Flurry Heart, and some of them are related to the school, I suppose," she added to provide another argument why she wanted to get enlisted.

"Uh-huh," Starlight replied, unamused that Cozy Glow brought it up. "Though I hope you know, or will learn and understand, why what you did was problematic."

Starlight laid out a stack of papers in front of Cozy Glow, along with a pen. "Ok, this packet is an agreement that by attending this school, you won't hurt other students, commit felonies, drain all the magic from Equestria, or start a revolt, a riot, a revolution, or a coup against the school, the princesses, or the elements of harmony. I hope you understand why all of these are crimes," Starlight explained as she spun her forehoof unamusedly. "However, also note that we don't want you interacting with Discord, Grogar, Sombra, or Chrysalis while attending this school. Finally, you are not allowed to steal Twilight's friends. Any violations of these could get you expelled from the school. Make sure you understand it fully before signing. If not, ask me to clarify."

"This packet of forms is for you to fill in with your personal information. This form is everything we need to know about you in order for you to be a student here. So just fill that out. It's all the usual stuff, you know, name, age, address, parental information, health information, etc..."

"This is your class schedule. Once you have completed the other two parts, I will help you create your schedule. Some classes are requirements, but for a lot of classes, you can choose what you want to take. I will elaborate on it once we get there."

"Finally, once everything else is satisfied, I will give you these saddlebags, which contain the basic school supplies for here," Starligh explained, pointing to each of the papers as she went. She finished by pointing to a pair of saddlebags with the School of Friendship emblem as its buckle.

Cozy listened carefully to what Starlight had to say, and found some parts that were unclear to her. "Golly, I wonder why my former pen pal Tirek isn't on the list of those I shouldn't interact with... I believe he is still turned to stone along with Chrysalis, right? And Grogar was really Discord, so he is on the list twice, unless you mean the real Grogar. It's all a little confusing to me."

"Also, do all students need to sign that agreement, or was it made specifically for me?"

"Well none of these characters mentioned, including Tierk, should be interacting with any of us or anybody at this school. They are either still in stone or they have their own agreement about avoiding interactions. This was made specifically for you to help you reintegrate after being turned back to life from stone. Interacting with any of the names mentioned, including Tierk, would excessively complicate things, in addition to creating problems for everypony involved. Look, I believe in second changes, and even third chances as well. I wouldn't be where I am today without them, but as headmare of this school, I have an obligation to keep every student and staff member here safe. I hope you understand, " Starlight explained. 

If Cozy Glow didn't have any further questions, Starlight would collect the agreement once Cozy Glow signed it and then point to the form for personal information for her to fill out. "This form is all the information we need to know for you to attend here as a student. Every applicant here fills it out when they apply, and this form is the same as the ones all the other applicant fills out. It's the usual stuff, like name, age, species, gender, address, etc..." Starlight explained.

"Huh. I know Flurry Heart is always mentioning what she is up to. I suppose I'm just wondering what she invited you to do," Starlight elaborated.

She paused for a moment before continuing, “Well, there actually is another reason I asked. I can help suggest electives based on your interests. I guess I could also list some electives if you’re not sure.”

If Cozy Glow didn't have any questions while filling out the personal information, Starlight would then collect and review it before moving on to the schedule. She would slide a partially filled-out schedule across the desk to Cozy Glow, then pull out a book of classes and open it.

"Ok so here's your schedule. I already filled in your required friendship classes, which are the hooves-on classes that this school is known for. We also have requirements in the more traditional academic subjects, but since you have already taken some classes with us before, you have more choices for which class you want to take to fulfill a specific requirement. Also, I know that some requirements here might already be fulfilled. Refer to the book of classes and requirements here to create your schedule. Finally, once all the requirements are filled in, you can complete the rest of your schedule with any class you are interested in. We have a ton of electives here," Starlight explained.

If Cozy Glow flipped through the book, she would notice that she was signed up for the intro classes for the subject of friendship. The book was split by subject. Within each subject, there would be a few intro classes listed. This was followed by a wide variety of more in depth classes, which often had prerequisites.

After listening to Starlight's answer, Cozy Glow started to read all the documents carefully, sign them and fill in her personal information. When she finished, she gave them back to Starlight.

She tried to keep her voice level yet stern, yet it was clear the draconacus really frustrated her. 

"Hold on, give me a moment," she would say once the pair were ready to move on. She would take in a deep breath and hold it for a second before exhaling slowly, moving her forelegs as a part of her calming process.

"Ok, everything else is in order?" Starlight would ask rhetorically as she collected and skimmed over the papers Cozy Glow filled out. Starlight seemed relieved to move on to a subject she would much rather talk about. "Ok, let's move on to the schedule. I think this is the more exciting part. So if you look at your schedule, you see that I already put in your first year intro to friendship classes. As for the other requirements, like Ponish, Equestrian studies, maths and sciences, well you had already taken almost a full year with us, so I put you in second year at this level. Core requirement classes have different levels to meet, yet challenge students where they are at. I think this level is the best for you for these subjects," Starlight would point to the classes she recommended from the course reference book. 

"See if you feel like you have a clear grasp on the class's prerequisites. If you don't think my recommendations are the right fit for you, we can change them. And if we don't agree, I can give you a test on that subject to determine." Starlight would encourage Cozy to take a look at the reference book and see where she fits in the core classes listed. 

Once Cozy Glow finished with the course requirements, Starlight would be able to list the electives. "Ok, so you have a few spots left in your schedule. you can fill them with electives. We have a lot of them, so I will sort them into categories. For art classes, we have art, ceramics, and photography. For music, we have choir, orchestra, band, jazz, and music theory. Basically something for every kind of musical instrument out there. For theatre, we have acting and costume design. For technical classes, we have carpentry, culinary arts, architectural drafting, graphic design, and visual media arts. For physical activities classes, we have personal fitness, rock climbing, dance, aquatic activities, and the rest cover just about any other sport that is played frequently in Equestria. For technology engineering, we have robotics, engineering design, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. In addition, this list is quite general. For most of the arts, music, and physical activities classes, there are options to for specific cultures and species as well. So as you can see, we have a lot of classes. It turns out the School of Friendship is super popular with students. Who knew?" Starlight explained, flipping through the pages of the book to point to the classes she was referring to.

"Any questions?" Starlight asked as she let Cozy Glow take a look at the book and read the class descriptions.

"Ok that looks good. So elective classes are half a year long compared to required classes, which are a full year. Most students take two or three electives for each half. Feel free to create your schedule with this," Starlight explained. "Ah the robotics class. That was just added this year. I know quite a lot of students are interested in it. We'll have to see if there is space and if it fits in your schedule. It takes place in the engineering classroom, and you will be building a machine that can do various tasks, and then you will give instructions to the machine through a computer."

"Who is the teacher? Uh let's see," Starlight would pull out a list to check before continuing. "Uum, it's Tinker Twinkle. I don't think you have him before. This school has grown a lot recently, so a lot of changes have occurred. However, I heard you're familiar with Sandbar. He currently teaches the marine biology elective here. I'm not sure if you have the required prerequisites though..."

"We don't have chess classes, but there is a chess club here at the school. Feel free to explore the wide variety of student activities here," Starlight suggested. She would encourage Cozy Glow to finish her schedule with the information she provided.

"Sounds good!" She remembered something that she mentioned earlier in her conversation with Flurry Heart and Luster Dawn. "I also like kites, it's actually something I picked up from you when I was a student before. Is there a club for that as well?"

Starlight would help Cozy finish her schedule with her choices. "Alright, looks like your schedule is complete! Normally, students make all their choices for both halves before the school year starts, but due to your unique circumstances, I think it's better if you choose the rest of the classes later." Starlight would give one copy of the schedule to Cozy Glow and file the other away for reference. She would then attempt to file away the rest of the huge pile of papers on her desk.

"You know, I wish there was a more efficient way to organize all this information..." Starlight pondered.

Starlight thought for a moment before replying. "Uum, not that I am aware of? But I will be flying kites with my friends in a few minutes once school is over. Would you like to join?" Starlight asked. 

If Cozy Glow didn't have anything else to ask or do, (or she didn't want to fly kites right now) Starlight would lead Cozy out of her office just as school ended, grabbing a few kites to bring along for everypony. Somehow, Starlight managed to find Twilight, Flurry, and Luster among the hallways filled with students. Flurry had a huge smile on her face, and Twilight seemed pleased. Meanwhile, Luster had her face buried in a book. The quintet made their way to an open meadow where everypony could start flying their kites. There, Flurry would immediately offer to help Cozy Glow set up her kite even without being prompted.
