Your thoughts on Twilight's fillyhood.

Well, as we know, Twilight isn't a little filly.

Though, how would you think her life is like until she came to Ponyville?

I really think she was just any other filly. Eventually from being inspired by Celestia, she became so obsessed with magic. While in this, she had good times with her brother. Then like on the episode it was explained, she became Celestia's star student.

After that she was just so into the books and learning magic, it being all she would do.

What do you think it was like?

If this gets quite a few responses, i'll make one for other ponies of the Mane 6.

She was probably always reading/studying and not being very social with other fillies. Probably was the quiet one on the playground, reading a book under a tree.

I believe Twi used to wonder what friendship could be, that is until the others shared its magic with she. Besides, she said herself that when she was just a filly she found it rather silly to see how many other ponies she could meet. After all, she had her books to read, didn't know that she would ever need other ponies to make her life complete. ;)

Where did she live before becoming Celestia's student? It couldn't have been Ponyville, obviously. And we don't see her parents in Canterlot. That question rose to my mind when I was thinking about her childhood.

She read books. Lots and lots and lots of books.

Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge,
and best pony is Fluttershy.

Her face is still blushing and she is still eating the pasta.

She was probably very antisocial, and only liked to read. She studied, and practiced magic. The only true friend she really had was her brother. I think it was best, because Shining Armor seemed fairly humble, for the ponies in Canterlot.

I did truly think that Twilight was a bit too obsessed with Smarty Pants, and the doll was the biggest friend she had, besides her brother.

Cadence, however was an exception. Considering she was a nice babysitter, she was very close friends with Twilight. Who wouldn't be friends with Cadence.

I think you mean Smarty Pants, haha.

I'm sorry. Now I just have images of Fancy Pants and Twilight hanging out. That would be odd.

You mean Smarty Pants? I don't think a filly Twilight would be hanging around a teenage (or younger) Fancy Pants when she has her brother lol.

Ninja'd but I'm still going to keep this up to further remind Dr. Incognito of his mistake. Yeah, you remember your typo.

Antisocial actually means you want everybody around you to die. I highly doubt she thought of any of those things unless her crazy side kicked in more often than we would originally think.

And... Twilight was obsessed with Fancy Pants? Do you mean Smarty Pants? :o

Cadence obviously had a real gift for "love" (her cutie mark, I'm assuming), so even Twilight couldn't have resisted her charm and kindness. This is obviously speaking for a unicorn that wants nothing to do with other ponies, of course, instead opting to read books.

I personally do think her insanity was spawned by some event in the past. It just seems a side of her so neurotic and sparratic had to be spawned in the begginning of her life. Sorry for not using the right term for her, I meant she did not like to have many friends. I suppose that is less intense than antisocial.

PS: I already changed it to Smarty Pants. I'M SORREH! :(

Twilight has an obsession with being neat and tidy, also highly organized. It's no wonder that she does become increasingly paranoid and a bit frustrated when things are not going her way, because "everything must be perfect". I can honestly relate :(

And don't worry about it; I'm not going to sentence you to death row or anything. That's Ezynell's job. ;)

The term everypony is grasping for is asocial rather than anti-social. Trust me, a close friend of mine who is studying psychology corrected me on the terminology.

Given Twilight's words from the theme song (I used to wonder what friendship could be / Until you all shared its magic with me), and her behavior at the beginning of "Friendship is Magic", she viewed friendship very much from a distance. Twilight admits in "B.B.B.F.F." that the concept of making friends and associating with other ponies were not her top priorities, especially in light of her studies. In other words, Twilight believed that whatever she needed to know she could learn through books and study rather than experience. She literally lived in an ivory tower, so that should give you a good understanding of her mindset.

It was only when the rest of the Mane Six shared the strength and values of friendship did Twilight come to recognize that making friends was neither a waste of time nor merely an intellectual exercise. Still, she cherished the interactions with her big brother and Princess Cadance, so it was not as if Twilight was isolated her entire life. In an attempt to reconcile those relationships into Twilight's experience (because Twilight makes no mention of either Shining Armor or Cadance in the first season), she probably did not view Shining Armor and Princess Cadance as friends proper but instead as big brother and foalsitter, respectively.
