Starting a fanfiction

I have an idea for a fanfiction, but I often have trouble putting things into words. I have even more trouble starting a fanfiction, I just don't know how to make "The red OC with a blue mane and a cutie mark made out of green fire and strange characters walks into Ponyville. He looks back and forth hoping to not run into pinkie pie. Just when he thinks she hasn't noticed him yet he turns and finds pinkie pie. Hilarity ensues." bearable to read. That was just a gross summarization of the beginning but, do any of you have suggestions?

Eh, focus on your mane skill (see what I did there? ;) )

My skill is normally comedy and Grimdark situations, so I mostly write Grimdark ad Comedic fics.

Other than that, not sure what to tell you.

Good luck :D .

I also had the same problem when I started. I had a pretty clear idea of what would happen in the middle and the end, but the beginning... Yeah I was pretty stuck. But then I thought to myself: "I guess that I can do what Rowling did, write the last chapter first." And so I did. When I wrote that chapter I suddenly knew how I would start the story.

So I guess that you could try that :)

That sounds like a great idea! Thank you Juggler! Although, I've already planned to split my story into parts; did you write the end of the first part or the end of the last part?
