Recommended Posts

These are a few free commissions ive done for people here on the forums, and people on Deviant Art. This is just a small sample of my commission work. So far, ive done every commission for free. I like to have practice everyday, so why not draw somepony elses character and see if they like it.

Aww~ I love the first one! May I make a few suggestions:

Try using a different colour other than grey/black/white for tones? (E.g. a grey-purple for shading and an orange-yellow for highlights. If something casts a warm light it creates a cold shadow, just as a cold light casts a warm colour shadow); going to Image > Image Rotation > Flip Horizontal can help you see any mistakes; on the very last image try not to use the smudge tool too much, instead try using the "Airbrush Pen Opacity Flow" brush (if you right click on the canvas whilst having the brush tool selected it's on the second row from the top, second last -hover over the thumbnail and the name of the brush will show up-; Try using the rectangle marquee tool and select roughly where the ground starts and use a gradient to show where the 'wall' ends and the 'floor' starts; Line diversity, as in they range from thick to thin -thin at he ends thicker in the middle.

Hope this helps~ Pony on!

I will definately take into concideration everything you said. Im still new to drawing ponies and on EQD right now im on the noobie training grounds, which has helped me STUPENDOUSLY. This advice will defiantely help me get better. Im also very flattered on how you think this is photoshop (at least the last one anyways ^^) but no, every one of these were done in flash 8. thank you ever so much for your kind words.

Please by no means ever question yourself at talents. Everyone has their own and should stick with it. It may seem that others are "better" but they are just more experienced. Anyone has the great opportunity to become better. Thank you for your kind words. And i will, check out my deviant art in my profile to see more if your intrested.

You're very welcome dear~ Have you tried torrenting Photoshop? It's easy to get since it's popular.

Yes I do have photoshop but i actually like using Flash instead for making these quick free request. If I used photoshop i would spend alot more time on a picture or drawing than I would on flash and I want to get these to the people whoasked for them in a timely manner.
