"Ahh ow ow ow!" Scootaloo exclaimed, covering her head with her small hooves while slowly inching herself under the bed. This prove quite difficult to do while being beaten with a pillow by a cyan pegasus twice her size, but she finally managed to somehow find herself completely under the bed. Still holding on to the pillow, she silently waited.

When Rainbow Dash finally looked under the bed, the little filly smacked the pillow across Dash's face, making her recoil to the ground.

"Pffffft Bahahahaha!" she giggled, burying her face to contain herself from screaming with laughter.

"Hey! Get out from under there squirt so I can whack you some mor-OOF! HEY! You little-get out here!" Dash's brows furrowed and her wings flapped faster as she drew her face out from view of the bed and rubbed her nose, listening to the little orange filly giggle hysterically there, under the bed. Now forgetting all about the pillow war itself, she fluttered up into the air, and smirked to herself. She knew trying to stretch her hooves under there wouldn't work; Scootaloo could barely fit under there, and there was no way she could reach her.

Fine then...

Dash silently flew away from the bed, and hid behind a wall that marked the beginning of the staircase to the upstairs. Standing on her hind hooves and stifling a smirk with a snicker, her ears flicked, awaiting the sound of the filly to emerge, wondering where the blue pony had gone.

Scootaloo, after finally recovering from her laughing fit, waited for Rainbow's next move. And waited. And waited some more. Soon, she became impatient. She half knew what RD was up to, but didn't know where she was. Slowly yet agile, she inches her way out of the bed and pokes her head out, ruffling her mane. No Rainbow Dash in sight.

"Hmm," she thought aloud, "maybe she's in the kitchen." Pillow still in her mouth, she stealthily trotted towards the kitchen, which was the room past the stairs. Tank walked out and stared at her blankly. Scootaloo smiled sheepishly, then turned the corner to the stairs.

Her eyes widened.

"HA!" With a pounce like a cat on a mouse, Dash leapt from her spot and tackled the small filly. Her pillow being lost from her mouth amidst her gasp and giggling, Scootaloo was easily pinned by the adolescent pony twice her size. Dash looked over at Tank and winked at him, holding Scootaloo down with a single front hoof against her belly.

"Thanks Tank, perfect timing!" The azure pony said, before turning and grinning from ear to ear at her newly captured prey. Scootaloo smiled sheepishly even more than she had at Tank, and lowered her ears halfway in a defeated, nervous fashion. Expecting something horrible, the orange filly was surprised when she was scooped up into the older pony's upper hooves and held there tight, as Dash flew back over to her bed. When Dash dropped the filly a few feet onto the bed with a soft bounce, she poked her in the head with a hoof, and said, "Next time, you get worse. Trust me. But I'll let ya off easy. This time."

Having completed what she needed to beforehand with Tank and her own teeth, the blue pony turned off the light by her bedside, and flopped down onto her bed as well, starting to get comfortable with the pillows.

A certain orange filly dropped from the air into a soft bed. Soon enough, she found herself in the dark, seldom able to see, besides the silhouettes of moving objects and a large pegasus. After sitting for a minute, she then realized how chilly it was up here in the clouds. She has never been up in the clouds before since... well... since she couldn't fly. She gave her wings a depressing flutter, but then saw something in the dark. Rainbow Dash had curled up to sleep, and seemed pretty comfortable

"Hmmm... Maybe I can sleep with her tonight? I don't know... she doesn't seem like that type of pony... but I guess I can try... She has been nice to me after all..."

The little crusader slowly walked over the plush bed towards Rainbow Dash. When she came close enough, she nudged her idol in the side a bit. "Uhm... Rainbow Dash?" she whispered. When Rainbow looked, she gave her big, purple eyes and a nervous smile, eying that one spot between the cyan pegasus's wing and side. The perfect spot.

The one spot she could only dream of sleeping in.

"Nnn, what now?" Dash asked, opening one eye and looking at the thing that had just poked her side. She blinked at Scootaloo, standing there giving her big eyes. But the cuteness effect didn't really work on Dash, at least, not nearly as easily as her other friends. She cocked an eyebrow.

"Just pick a spot and go to bed, pipsqueak." She said, waving a hoof in the air dismissively. She then turned onto her side, so that her soft, warm and rather inviting belly revealed itself. Stretching her hooves with a yawn, tail flicking, the weather pony closed her eyes again. She had assumed Scootaloo went to lay down. But that wasn't the case in the least.

Scootaloo's ears lowered a bit. That was NOT the response she was hoping for. She almost turned around to go, but she wanted to try one more time. ONE more time, just so she could maybe, just maybe get that spot.

"Uhm..." she murmured nervously.

Scoots poked the weather pony in the side. Both the ponies were still in an almost sightless darkness, so she only could hope that Rainbow could see her. She smiled timidly and cocked her head to the side, crouching on her four hooves and pointing to that one spot she had been looking to sleep in the entire time.

*technically she'd poke her in the belly, since she's laying on her side, facing Scoots, now*

Giving a slightly agitated groan, the blue pony looked down at the orange filly and squinted. The dim light from the moon and stars provided an outline, as well as the girl's eyes. It was enough to see that the filly was patiently, albeit nervously pointing at the blue pegasi's belly area. Dash blinked, and sighed softly. She had finally caught on.

"Kid, look..." Dash began. She fought to find the right words in her tired state. "I know I started to early but...I'm not really a cuddle pony...I mean, you were sad and it was different when I found you a while ago but, I just like personal space, okay? I..." She lost her locomotion of thought. She knew she was lying through her teeth. It had little to do with personal space, and far more to do with her own anxieties, plus, maybe, a smidgen of pride. She was no sister, nor a mother. It wasn't her place to act like one, she thought.

But despite this, the filly still didn't go away. She stood there, looking down at the soft bed beneath her. Dash sighed even deeper and groaned to herself.

"...Fine, just for tonight. But you tell anypony, even your two friends, and you're toast. Got that?" She smirked and winked, knowing Scoots could barely see it in the dark. She then surrendered herself to any incoming soft hooves or filly body that may come and lay itself against her, closing her eyes once more.

Yet another thing Dash would come to find out, that she falsely labeled to only happen once.

Scootaloo's ears perked up a mile. At the sound of these words, Scootaloo quickly bounded over to Rainbow Dash and bounced onto her belly, which was warm compared to the rest of the bed. "Thanks so much Rainbow! And don't worry, I don't even want to tell anyone!" she said this, knowing she wasn't this type of cuddly pony either. But this time, this once, with this pony, it was an exception. The position she put herself in under Rainbow's spread wing wasn't very comfortable, so the little filly fidgeted around a bit, poking and twirling.

Finally, she found a position that was suitable for her needs. Her head on the cyan pegasus's belly, leaning up against her with her wing over the filly's whole body. Combined with the fact that she was spending the night with her lifelong idol, she didn't think this night could really get any better. After a minute, she then realized how tired she was. This whole night really had weared her out, from taking a short walk outside of her clubhouse to having an intense pillow fight with a large mare 200% her size.

"Thanks again, Rainbow Dash. This means so much to me..." she whispered, her eyes getting glassy from happy emotions. The orange filly closed her eyes, almost immediately drifting off to dreamland.

Dash laid there, silently suffering but smiling as the orange filly fidgeted, poked, prodded and squirmed uncomfortably until she was able to get into a position she enjoyed. Purple mane tickling her tummy, Dash stifled a snicker that was silenced once the tiny pony had finally stopped moving. Only then did Dash close her eyes, stretch her lower hooves, give a loud yawn of fatigue, and surrender herself to sleep. Relaxing, heart slowing as sleep came closer to her, she heard the filly mumble tiredly to her, and then become both still and silent.

"Yeah, well, glad you're happy, kiddo." The blue pony answered, words lost to the quiet and dark, peaceful bedroom. Laying her head back and being careful not to jiggle around too much, Pegapillow Dash fell into a deep sleep, dreaming about the possible outcome of her kind and generous deed she had done this night.

(New day. Scoots wakes up before-hand, excited as hell about spending time with Dash, and Dash is a groggy pile of feathers that doesn't want to wake up yet, so that'll be an amusing encounter for a handful of responses :3)

It was nearing the crack of dawn. The sun was barely over the horizon when a certain orange filly's eyes awakened. It took her a few minutes to realize where she was since she wasn't used to sleeping in the comfort of Rainbow's house. "Oh man... what a night. Well, it's time for some more fun with Rainbow Dash! I have to make the most of this!" the excited filly thought.

She turned her eyes toward the clock, which just struck at 5:45 AM. Rainbow Dash usually has to get up early anyway, so why not wake her up for some play time before she has to go? Scoots got up from under the cyan pegasus's wing and poked her a few times. "Hey Dash! Wanna go flying? Or maybe go outside and play or something? Want to? Want to?" she asked excitedly, slightly bouncing on the bed.

"Ugnnnn..." Came the disoriented and sluggish response of the adolescent blue pony. Laying there, having just been in the middle of a perfect dream involving her and Spitfire hanging out, Rainbow Dash returned to the world of the living with tightly closed eyes. She felt a small form leave her side and begin hopping around the middle of the bed, occasionally prodding Dash's side upon rebounds. But Dash's motivation this early in the morning was thin. Even though she sometimes had to wake early, this was far too early, even for her. The sun was barely peaking the sky, and memories of sleepovers at Applejack's came to mind. She was always the last one up.

"Squirt, go back to bed, it's way too early. I still got forty minutes to snooze before I have to go." Dash said flatly, turning over and cuddling one of her two large, round pillows in her upper hooves. Playing? Pfft, no way. The sacred laziness of Rainbow Dash the morning slug pony was not about to be disturbed or changed by a filly.

The orange pegasus stopped in her tracks. Those words penetrated her in a ridiculous fashion. "Too early?" she questioned. "It's never too early to fly all across Equestria at high speeds!" she exclaimed happily, resuming the spontaneous bouncing, even more energetically this time. She remembered the words Rainbow Dash had said to her the previous night. "I can't leave your here. So...if you've really got nowhere else to go, why don't you come on up and stay the night with me at my place? We'll try and figure out what to do with ya in the morning, okay?" She couldn't let her last true moments with her lifelong idol go to waste. "Though, I don't want to make her mad, I really want to spend time with her..." she pondered her choices. She bit her lip.

The little filly then trotted over to Rainbow Dash and tried the method she tried last night, even though she knew it probably wouldn't work. She poked Rainbow Dash in the belly and said, "Pleaaaseee Dash? You said I only get to stay with you for just this night and morning and I really want to play with you! Can we go flying?" giving the cyan weather pony the big eyes. This was soooooo unlike her, being a daredevil-ish scootering speedster she was, but this was an exception for this one pony she admired.

"Kid, I said you could only stay with me tonight." Dash began, feeling her tummy poked and sitting up. Mane a complete mess, she rubbed it with a hoof, and looked at the filly's big eyes. "That doesn't mean we can never hang out., just to hang out. You and I can fly sometimes when I'm not busy if you want."

As if it possessed a magnetic pull, the bed sucked Rainbow Dash back onto it in a gradual motion. She landed with a thud, her body still weak and tired, not prepared to get up yet. She closed her eyes, hoping, praying the filly would just give her twenty more minutes, but it was not meant to be. Pretty soon, the same 'pleeeeease?' was accompanied by two hooves resting on Dash's stomach, as Scoots stood on her hind hooves and pressed into the weather pony. But Dash simply used hoof to poke the filly in her own, smaller and softer stomach, playfully knocking her over onto her flank. Meant as a 'leave me be, kid', Scoots instead giggled, taking it alternatively as an underlying playfulness.

"Hehehe, so you want to have a wresting match, huh?" Scootaloo said joyfully. She didn't care whether she would lose or not. In fact, she was sure she would lose since the pony in the ring is one of the top athletes in Ponyville and is twice her size. This gave her an opportunity to spend time with her.

The orange filly waited for Dash to look away from her tiredness, and then pounced on her with a yell, wrapping her hooves around her body and rolling around.

"Hey!" Dash squeaked with a loud voice crack, eyes flying open as her wings shuddered in surprise from the tackle. The blue pony rolled over on top of Scoots, and then onto her side, back hanging off the edge of the bed just slightly. She huffed through her nostrils, and used both her front hooves to try and pry the filly off of her. While Scootaloo giggled and clung tighter, still under the pretense of playing, Dash growled slightly, completely unamused. She had told the kid twice now, once with her mouth, once with her hoof, to leave her be!

"You're really askin' for it, twerp!" The tomboy growled, her anger coming off as mock play to Scootaloo. She eventually preyed the filly from herself, gently tossing her a few feet down to the lower end of the large cushioned bed. Dash groaned to herself, and, in her victory over the filly's antics, yet again fell back into her pillows. But it was all a lost cause now, she thought to herself, frowning up at her fluffy cloud ceiling. Thanks to the kid she was now wide awake.

Horse feathers.

"Alright, alright, I guess I'm up now thanks to somepony." She said, putting emphasis on the end of her sentence. She sat up in bed and stretched her hooves and wings, grunting and getting rid of the stiffness. She stepped off the bed and sluggishly walked over to her bathroom to comb her mane. "But we're not flying or playing around or anything. You want me up, I'm up, but before I gotta get to work on the weather, we're goin' to talk to Twilight and my other friends about this whole situation like I said we would. K, squirt?"

The blue pony patted her green tortoise pet on the head, and began to make her way out her front door, bed completely a mess, and not even caring.

Scootaloo's ears lowered and her eyes widened. Talk about this subject to her friends? "Uh oh," she thought, panicking. "That means more ponies will know about this, and that means that my secret will be out, and if they tell more people, that means everyone will know!" She hastily trotted over to the door, during which she said,

"Hey, wait Rainbow Dash!"

She then stopped to contemplate her thoughts. This was Twilight and her friends she was talking about. They were the most trustworthy ponies in all of Ponyville. "Hmmm, if I just make them Pinkie promise, I should be okay..." She gulped, then followed Rainbow out the door, shouting, "I'm coming!"

Completely and utterly oblivious to the fillies' body language demonstrating clear anxiety, the blue weather pony trotted out her front door, out along the stretch of cloud that acted as a front yard. She looked around at the two sets of rainbow fountains spilling out rainbow fluid on tiny, several foot tall waterfalls, and waited for Scootaloo to mount her back. As soon as she did, the tomboy was off in a flash of sound and color, darting off her cloud and soaring downwards, straight towards Ponyville.

"First we'll talk to Twilight. Then I wanna talk to Applejack, too." Dash explained to the tiny pony on her back, also going over her plan for her own sake as well. She would talk to Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie as well, but they wouldn't be as beneficial to Rainbow's purposes, or so she thought, anyway. Twilight was an egghead, but she was really, really good at these sort of things. And Applejack was her best friend. Between the two of them, they'd know what to do.

Or, at least she hoped so.

Before long, the familiar sight of Twilight's tree house library, sitting in town, came into view as the two pegasi pierced down through the puffy white cloud cover.

Scootaloo, even though she should be screaming with joy at the fact that's she's yet again flying the daytime of Celestia, still couldn't help but feeling a bit nervous. Though she trusted Twilight and her friends, she still had a queasy feeling in her stomach as the two pegasi flew through the air at high speeds. She gulped as she caught sight of Twilight's enormous treehouse.

Twilight was having a pretty average day. Studying in her library, maybe having a friend or two over. In this particular case, Applejack had come to visit. She suddenly had an idea as she was reading a book on the atmosphere of Equestria.

"Hey, Spike! Could you get Applejack that book on Organized Orchards?" she shouted. "Coming right up!" came a response of a not yet matured baby dragon from the other room. Twilight looked back at Applejack, smiled slightly, then looked back at her book. When she looked out her window to observe the colors of the sky, she saw a blur of orange and cyan heading her way.

"Comin' in hot!" Dash exclaimed with a daredevil smirk, touching down on the ground so fast that she needed to hit the ground galloping, and then slow down to a trot from there. Scootaloo remained on the pony's back even after that had landed, hiding behind Rainbow's long, bright mane. The blue pony didn't seem to notice or even care yet, and she walked up to the front door, knocking with a series of loud thumps.

--

"Much appreciated, Spike." Applejack said pleasantly, smiling and taking the book from the dragon her in mouth. She placed it on Twilight's central table where she stood next to, and, too, glanced out the window just in time to see something approaching them. She cocked an eyebrow, but left it alone for now. "Uh, thanks for the book n' all, Twi," The farm pony began, her soft ears twitching and awaiting for the inevitable knock she knew would be coming. "Apple Bloom's been buggin' me bout' helpin' me with chores more often, says she's 'a big pony now an' deserves big pony chores' just like me. I figure this book'll help out with teachin' her how to properly buck trees' n' such-"

Suddenly the knock on the door came.

Twilight saw in the corner of her eye Applejack getting up, but she stopped her hastily. "Don't worry AJ, I will get the door," she reassured her with a wink. Twilight paced herself to the door, knowing it was rude to keep them waiting. She opened the wooden door, not surprised to see her cyan pegasus friend, but definitely caught off guard by the appearance of Scootaloo.

"Hmmm," she pondered, "What are Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo doing together at this hour of the morning? Rainbow usually sleeps later than this, and the filly should be in bed." The purple unicorn cocked her eyebrows for a moment, but quickly changed that to an awkward smile.

"Oh, hi you two! Come on in!"

--

Scootaloo walked in, still on Rainbow's back, her head facing the floor and her ears lowered. She didn't even want to think about the outcome of this situation, yet her creativity came up with the absolute worst ideas ever. "What if they start to laugh at me and tell every pony in Ponyville? If everyone finds out... Oh man, I will be bullied at school, not accepted anywhere, and the crusaders would probably kick me out..."

The orange filly stopped her thoughts for a split second. "Don't think about that Scootaloo, Twilight and Applejack are nice ponies, I'm sure they will understand." Still a bit nervous, she bit her lip and rested her head against Rainbow's mane.

--

Twilight looked at the seemingly depressed filly. For the most part, Scootaloo was a spontaneous filly who always seemed energized and excited to try new things. And with Rainbow Dash here, it seems like she would be even more psyched. "But there has to be a reason that these two are here at this hour of the morning..." she thought to herself, saving the countless questions that popped into her head for later. Surely there was an explanation to this.

"Make yourselves at home, you two." Twi said enthusiastically.

(Scootaloo is still on Dashie's back :3 She's too nervous to get down)

"Hey Twi-whoa, AJ, you're here too?" Dash said, her spirits lifting with a smile. She wouldn't have need to go separately track down the orange farm pony now, meaning she could get the entire situation down in one place. This in mind, the weather tomboy ponies' wings poofed up and outwards as she trotted into the large circular building. It was only once she reached the inside and came to a halt, that Applejack smiled at her blue friend and asked how she was doing, and why she was up this early. Dash rolled her eyes at a joke about her being a lazy sleep-in pony, then looked around to see Scootaloo attempting to avoid eye-contact, sitting atop Dash's back.

"I'm here because I...well, need your help with something." She began, looking at Scootaloo firmly. "Come on squirt, why are you being a fraidy pony? Come on down, already."

--

Applejack may have been a silly farm pony who thought about apple bucking most of the time, but of all the her friends, she was keen on noticing and analyzing relationships and body language perhaps more than anyone else. The moment Dash walked in, she suspected something was up. Why was Scootaloo with her, and this early? And why was she so frightened-looking? When Dash spoke, she noticed the patience and care in the blue pony's voice that was often absent from her normal speaking tone.

Dash had always passed off her number one fan as just another cute admirer. Was she spending quality time with her, finally?

"What's on yer' mind, sugarcube?" AJ said, taking off her hat and setting it on the table.

--

Dash recalled all of the previous night. She began with her leaving Pinkie's party, where the rest of them had stayed for another hour or so, and how she had gone to fly around a bit. Applejack gave a cock of her eyebrow as the tomboy mentioned how she flew over Sweet Apple Acres. Hearing her name, seeing Scootaloo, all of it. When she had finished, she noticed the orange pony was actually shaking a little, and she blinked, turning to her.

"Kid, what's up?"

Scootaloo, the entire time, could only watch in embarrassment as Dash recalled the whole story of the previous night. The orange crusader felt heat travel to her cheeks, which became red. This was absolutely humiliating. "No use in hiding anything from these two..." she thought to herself. She sniffled, saying, "Well.. I-I just didn't want many people to k-know about it, I don't want everypony in Ponyville f-finding out... I just..." Her words swelled up in her throat the same way they did when she was talking to Dash about the subject.

She looked at the ground, a tear dropping to the floor from her glassy eyes.

--

Twilight looked at the poor filly in horror and pity. She could not believe what she heard from Dash, and seeing the filly crying about it was heartbreaking. She trotted over to the little pegasus and gave her a reassuring hug, saying, "Oh Scootaloo, you don't have to be embarrassed! We understand, Applejack understands, and we don't dislike you because of this. And we won't tell, Pinkie Promise." The purple unicorn smiled, ruffling the filly's mane.

--

Scootaloo smiled slightly.

"I, I just dunno what to do, ya know?" Dash said, rubbing a hoof on her vibrant mane and finally feeling the orange filly leave her back. She must have finally worked up the courage, now that the two ponies knew, and the issue was finally out in the open, and being received well. Dash was getting anxious of standing there. She fluttered her wings and hovered a few feet above the floor, crossing her upper hooves, as Applejack stepped up to bat first.

"Well, sugarcube, ya know what ah think?" The farm pony said kindly, glancing at Scootaloo, who had now sat back on her flank. Eyeing her blue friend, Applejack walked over and poked her on her lower hoof. Getting the signal, Dash leaned down. "Ah don't think ya need to do anythin'."

Dash gave the girl a shocked look. Wait, what?

"The hay? AJ, I have to do something!" Dash said roughly, fluttering her wings harder, looking exasperated and frustrated. The response she was hoping for was not coming out. But Applejack simply smiled and chuckled.

"What do ya'll think, Twi?" Applejack asked suddenly, turning around. She knew Twilight knew what AJ had meant in her piece of advice. In fact, only Dash didn't know what she meant, and she remained visibly irritated about it.

Scootaloo was confused, but not as much as Dash seemed to be. The room was silent for a few moments, excluding the sound of Rainbow's intense flapping of her wings. "Could they be hinting at..." she stopped for a moment to ponder.

--

Twilight smiled at this. The thought of the two bonding together more sounded quite swell to her. Since she just found out about how Scootaloo is homeless, this was great. "Well, Rainbow, what Applejack is meaning to say is..."

--

Scootaloo's eye's widened a bit. "Is she suggesting that Rainbow..." She stopped as soon as Twilight said her words.

--

"... you take her in and live with her. Be like...

a sister."

Twilight rolled her eyes at the weather pony's expression.

--

Twilight took the words right out of the filly's mind. Her mouth dropped slightly.
