Stallions with the Paper app

Feather Spiral

Recommended Posts

I found this app last week and decided to give it a try on my iPad.

These are my first two attempts at drawing Feather (first one has the wrong mane style and no visible limbs). I used the default "Draw" tool for the body and head, "Write" for the mane+eye and details (inner line of the ear for example), and "Paint" (or "Brush", I forgot) for the iris.

First pic, turned out too generic without the right hairstyle

Second try, with more interesting pose and accurate appearance.

I really can't do better than this, but I find the style kinda cool and think about using it in a blog (like an Ask tumblr) if I ever decide to make one.

I also shrunk the second pic, as you can see. But since that lowers quality, I'm thinking of reuploading it in original size. What do you think?

hey hey hey fissy? can i munch your beard? well? can i? :3

also, speaking of blogs, if you don't feel like starting a tumblr yet, you could start a blog here on the forums using the forums new blog system. if you go about using a tumblr, you can still setup a blog here, and make it an external linked blog, which means you can reblog information from other blog-sites like Tumblr.

These are really good on the body, but the eyes look a bit weird. Overall, pretty decent. You should use Sketchbook Pro for the iPad, that's what I use and it's 10x better than Paper.

If you're a good girl, you can munch on... pretty much anything you want. c:

Yeah, I discovered the forum's blog system when I returned from vacation, it completely blew my mind. Looks interesting enough, though I figured a tumblr would be open to a greater public (and not just to forum members).

Could you explain what you find weird about them? Color, contour, shape...?

And I'm afraid I won't be using anything sophisticated on my iPad. Without a stylus for precision, I can't even draw decent lines in less then a million times. Unless there are styluses for iPads - I tried my Wacom tablet's, it didn't work.

Thanks you two. <3

There are, in fact, styluses for the iPad, I have one :D I use Kensington Stylus for iPad and it works perfectly, plus it has a ballpoint pen too. There are also many other iPad styluses out there if you do not like that one. Look it up on google :)
