Getting started in electronic music

Hello~ I am a fairly experienced musician, and I have written a decent amount of music, but pretty much all of it is for live performers on acoustic and electric instruments. I love electronic music, and I am highly interested in composing electronic music, of many varieties. Is there anybody here who could point me in the direction of good, affordable software and equipment for making electronic music?

 

I am fairly experienced using music editing software, and I do own a few electronic keyboards, several of which have MIDI.

highly recomend trying this small program out. You can set it up with your keyboard, and play around with the settings. If you're not familiar with the features and setting on this device, they're important to have a good handle on.
