private Shades of Forgotten Memories

Runner returned her comment with a mischievous smile, about to ask what she meant by "get you", but decided to leave that to his imagination.

When she first began speaking, Rain looked away, uncomfortable and distressed. But when she turned toward him, her mane parting in a sea of hues behind her, his heart melted. Her sparkling sapphire eyes, her compassionate smile, the little tilt of her head as she looked up at him...

Flame Runner took a breath of air, trying to calm himself as his heart thumped at a thousand beats a second. Damn... she was beautiful... And even with though those long scars on her neck, and her worn, tired eyes, she was still as beautiful as a rose on a summer evening, her flaws far from taking away from her elegance.

A strange feeling swelling up in his stomach, he found no other response to her question. This pegasus, this girl... He was stuck with her now.

And that may not be a bad thing.

"Yeah. Together." He said proudly, a gentle smile on his lips.

Breaking the mood, he chuckled, saying, "But if I were you, I'd take a shower." The red blood was still smeared across her body, making a large crimson stain on her coat.

And stuff.

Rain looked down at herself uncomfortably, then stood up weakly, wobbling. "Looks like we've got our hooves full now, with both of us," she sighed, looking at the glancing bruises and scars she had from the unicorns.

She smiled at Flame kindly, but something soured in her stomach. She wasn't sure what she was doing. She had known the stallion for less than a day and already she was flirting with him. Was that really the right thing to do? She barely knew him, and here she was. Maybe her comments were a bit too flirty, though she only half-intended them to be.

She just shook her head and decided to let her actions take their course.

"We should go inside now."

Looking down at his mussled mane and the various cuts, brusises, and dirt on the pegasus, he laughed, the two looking very comedic as they stood next to each other in the forest behind the apartment. "At least we're not hurt." He made a small pause as he glanced over at himself again, then said, "That much."

Watching the troubled expression on her face, he too thought about his relationship with this mare. And how quickly the two were growing together. Maybe I should take it slow? Flame Runner thought, but the extra wait wouldn't be a very pleasant one. He decided to slow it down a tad bit, because fate changes quickly. Maybe she'd just disapear the next morning without a trace. He couldn't become dependent on her. It would be heartbreaking.

Not until he was absolutely certain that she was the one.

"Yeah, let's get going." A small drizzle began to pour on the two ponies, and by the time they rushed into the apartment building, it was pouring.
