Pony Population?

Recommended Posts

This is mere guest work so it's debatable but I would guess the Pony's Population about 50 million across the world, since these Ponies don't seem to vastly expand their cities and have far more rural areas (small towns) than us

Unlike us Humans, the vast majority truly care about as well as protect the environment, so they don't aggressively expand their cities or obsessively harvest vast amounts of resources.

And those small towns in the rural areas are actually beneficial to the local wild life, since they help rather than hunt the wild life.

Only the animals in the Ever Free Forest (maybe in other places in the world) too are independent of the Ponies.

Also we may need to take other sapient races into account.

50 millions? That's should be damn crowded in the cities

We only have... Ponyville, Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Manehattan, Appleloosa, Dodge Junction, Hoofington, Fillydelphia, Trottingham, Las Pegasus, And Baltimare. Only 11 cities ever mentioned in the show, three is surely quite small, and the last 5 are never seen on the screen. According to dziadek1990's analysis, Ponyville have only about 3650 Ponies. While it's unclear how many ponies there are on the other cities, it's hard to say that there are more than ten millions of them in Equestria.

linky

Dunno about Crystal Empire though :<

They have quite some industrialization you know :V

While Equestrian technology appears to be rather unstable for each episode, it's safe to say that they are more than willing to cut down forests for their needs (the hydroelectric dam, and the apple orchards surely need lots of space) and mining from the earth (they have to get all of those metals from somewhere)
