I found my first 3d modle...

 

It's supost to be of Manic the Hedgehog from sonic... Note that this was my first and it was done like 2 or 3 years ago... I just thought it would be funy to look at... Lol

 

 

 

I could not texture it because It got too complicated... So I gave up and made it green... And I can't do any further work on it because I don't own Miya, I did this with a 30 day trial and now I must work on getting a cracked version... Lol

Very, VERY, nice good sir. It looks very smooth, and of good quality. windows has a built in screencap, so the camera snap is unnecessary. Keep at it, maybe expect a pm from me ;D

Ok im not going to say his is the worst, but Im not going to say it's good. Comments like these were pretty much the reason why we are cursed with this character limit.

 

It is a start and certainly good enough for the 30 day trial. If you are dedicated to 3D modeling then I have no doubt that you would be making good models in no time.

 

I know this was done several years ago, but you should definitely avoid tris when working with 3D models. It's also looks like you have some modeling errors around the face and wrists.

When modeling cartoon figures such as this, it's generally a good idea to keep the geometry simple and then use subdivision to round out the edges.

 

Maya is a super complex programs and some colleges spend up to four years teaching it, so don't be discouraged if some of your first models don't come out as well as you hoped. Maybe try some tutorials to learn some of the tools. There are also several books written on the program that you could pick up at a local book store/Amazon for less than 50$.

 

You may also want to look into the student license which makes it free... I think. I did it several years ago so I'm not 100% sure. I can't remember exactly, but I was able to apply for it in High School.

 

Also the "prnt scr" button saves a screen shot of your screen to the clipboard.

Lol... I didn't know about the prnt scr back then... And I didn't do this in 30 days... I did it in under a week... The body took 3 days... And the head took 2 till I had to go back to work... I did plan to keep working but... Work...

 

And plus I did it without lessons of any kind... It was tricky... But I pulled this off... Lol
