As Aura searched throughly for some gems to eat an unexpected vistor suddenly appeared behind her. The pony then asked her if this was the Crystal Empire. "Well i'm pretty sure it is the Crystal Empire." Aura responded. "It's not how i remember it though." She added.. "As for what's going on here im as confused as you are." Aura said looking around the desolate terran. "What are you doing all the way out here anyway?" She asked curiously.

 

"Me? well honestly im not sure what I am doing here. There isn't a dimensional breach anywhere around here, so why did..." Rift rambled on for about 2 minutes before realizing that the dragon had no idea what he was saying. "Sorry, inter dimensional travel makes for a terribly long story. Normally Id be here to take care of a Void beast that had broken through the fabric of this dimension, but I cannot sense a dimensional breach anywhere...Oh look at me, Im rambling again. Well since neither of us know what is going on  maybe we should head back the way I came. There were three ponys there, maybe they know something." As Rift turned back he heard a shout come from an alleyway. "HALT!"

The pony began rambling on something about dimensions. "Dimensional what?" Aura said confused. She had never heard of such things like inter-dimensional  travel or whatever this void beast was. "Im sorry ,but your a  pretty strange pony for sure." Aura said. Although she had to admit Rift was pretty intellectual. "Well i cant really find anything out here so i guess i'll just go with you." Aura said to Rift even though she was a little against the idea of meeting even more ponies as she was shy. Then all of a sudden a voice from an alley way broke the silence. "Whos there?" Aura shouted.

There was a tiny flash of light that hovered over the ground on the outskirts of the crystal empire. Energy flowed continuously around the flash, and it grew brighter and brighter until... it faded to nothing, leaving a small curled up form upon the harsh ground. A baby dragon, with dark purple scales and bronze armour, faded to a dull shine. The dragon opened one luminous green eye, wincing at the intake of light. The surroundings were unfamiliar.

 

Loro sat up shaking his head painfully. What had happened? He remembered tinkering with a faulty mine-depot machine. Had he overloaded the teleport to a far off tunnel? He circled his nimble claws and whirred nervously. Then he made a big mistake. He looked up.

 

The ceiling of the tunnel system had been replaced with the mighty expanse of the sky and, upon seeing it for the first time, Loro squeaked in terror. It was overpowering, massive and unforgiving, littered with clouds. "Where... am I?" he wondered aloud. How powerful was that teleport? Suddenly, he noticed something in the distance, two figures. A white form and a four legged beast. Loro squeaked again in terror, and flattened himself on the ground to avoid being seen. They seemed to turn towards a sound, and Loro held his breath.

The pony began rambling on something about dimensions. "Dimensional what?" Aura said confused. She had never heard of such things like inter-dimensional  travel or whatever this void beast was. Three soldier looking ponies came out of the alleyway and surrounded Rift and Aura. "Hey Dragon, you know how to fight, because I dont think these fine gentleponies are going to let us pass." asked Rift with a grin, He unsheathed his void claws. While a tear in the dimension couldn't hurt the ponies, the claws were sharp enough to tear through skin and bone. One does not grow up in the dangerous Void without learning how to fight. and to kill. Rift preferred to leave his opponents alive, especially if they were intelligent beings such as the ponies of this dimension, but he was more concerned with his mission now, he did not plan on being captured.

As the three soilder ponies came out and quickly surrounded the pair Rift asked Aura if she could fight. "Uhh i cant really fight."  Aura said looking at her claws they did look sharp enough to cut through armour but Aura had never really had any fightning experience and against soilders she would'nt really last in a phsyical fight. "Oh wait i know what i can do!" Aura said as she opened her mouth and what came from it was a very chilling wind. The icy wind quickly froze 2 out of the 3 guard ponies as the lone soilder was now outnumbered.

Rift was just about to launch himself at the guards when his target was frozen solid. "Heh heh, nice move dragon." A flash of light nearly blinded Rift and by the time his eyes readjusted the fleeing guard disappeared around a corner. "Oh no you dont." Rift's claws began to glow with a dull purple sheen. He slashed the air in front of him creating a tear in space. he stepped through it and right into the way of the fleeing guard. Catching the Guard unawares he smashed the back edge of his claws into the stallions head, knocking him out. Rift considered tearing tearing the unconscious guards throat out but thought better of it. He stepped back through the rift in time to see the white dragon greeting another creature.

Twilight sighed "hmm, Star Flare I don't think anything here will help you, it's just too limited. I'm sorry." Star Flare felt a tear coming to her eye, but pushed it back, she wasn't going to be a weakling anymore. She looked at Twilight and said "well, thanks anyway grandmother. We'll figure it out on this end, hopefully...." she choked out. Twilight half-laughed "Its strange, hearing somepony call me 'Grandma'." Star laughed as well, fighting off a overwhelming feeling of dread. She then realized something she'd forgotten before, The Twilight Sparkle Section of the Canterlot library. "Grandmother, it seems you'll be able to help me after all." Star Flare said confidently. Twilight turned to Star Flare "Oh? How?" she asked. "In the future, you get a section in the Canterlot library. In which, there are the spells I need to conquer this darkness!" Star said smiling. As soon as she finished her sentence, she awoke out of the dream. She looked around and realized there was a new colt with them and her wound had healed fully. She smiled and a tear rolled down her cheek "Thanks Grandma."

It had been hours since they began looking through the books in Twilight's library, still nothing. "Please don't hurt me!" Loro called out in fear to the larger ice dragon. He'd seen the way that she and her friend had defeated those guards, and it had scared him. He curled into a ball, hoping that his weak armour could shield him from a possible attack.

Skye jumped up, almost falling back down again from the pain in her leg.

"That depends!" She snarled, her wings snapping wider. "Are you?"

She bared her teeth and shoved the box over to the male pony.

"I dont know," She answered him. "But stay close."

She began to inch towards the colt who had yelled to her.

"Who are you?" She cried. She glanced to the fallen Princess, sweat dripping down her neck and over the necklace, making it burn even more from the salty excrement. She stared hard at the colt, waiting for an answer.

Swish chuckled, for this was exactly the response he was expecting.

"I'm friendly, as long as you aren't demons or royal guards." He inched closer, to the point that he could actally make out their coat colour. "I'm Swish." He said.

This all was completly in blind faith.

"When I come over there, you better not be murderers or thieves!" Swish walked closer to the ponies.

Swish chuckled, for this was exactly the response he was expecting.

"I'm friendly, as long as you aren't demons or royal guards." He inched closer, to the point that he could actally make out their coat colour. "I'm Swish." He said.

Skye glared at the new pony. She wasn't happy about any more additions to the group she had so abruptly aquired. She needed to find someone who could help her get into the Crystal Empire and rescue her groom...though a broken heart told her it already may be too late to save his life.

"Are you a soldier?" She responded hopefully. "I'll be very friendly if you are."

SkyeRibbon heard the Princess awake and turned to her, wings still protruding defensively towards Swish.

"How's your wound? Does it sting at all?" She said softly, placing a gentle hoof near the bandage. At the mention of stinging, once again, her neck began to burn. She ignored it, focusing on the ponies before her.

Loro slowly uncurled, and looked up hesitantly at Aura. Finally, his fear diminished and he sat up normally. "My name is Loro." He answered. "Where... where am I? Everything seems strange..." he looked worriedly up at the sky. "Where's the ceiling?" he wondered aloud, then noticing the frozen guards, he widened his eyes in fear once again. "Why are you attacking guards? Guards are the good guys!"

Aura was relieved the dragon finally got the corurage to talk. Loro asked where was he. "Well you're in the outskirts of the crystal kingdom." Aura explained. "I know it looks different i don't know what happened here anyway i realize you kind of appeared out of nowhere so im quite curious as to how you even got here." Aura said. Loro saw the two frozen guards and then the guard Rift was pinning down and started to freak out again.  Aura looked over toward the frozen guards again "Oh them.... well i dont know if they are good." Aura explained. "They kind of just came out of nowhere and was about to attack us." Aura added. "I don't know why though.... i didn't even do anything bad." Aura began to cry.

Silmor burst into the senate chambers,sending the heavy iron doors crashing into the wall. The senators that were seated around the room avoided his gaze,their heads looking down to the ground. Silmor walked towards his throne, standing at the head as it should be. He bid the senate speak now of the events, less they suffer an unfortunate fate. Taking a deep breath, the lone senator, Gale Wing, stood to meet Silmor. He bowed low before addressing the lord.

 

"My King most great, there have been... small skirmishes scattered around the city and beyond. Small bands of rebels have been harassing the Blackcyrstal guard stationed in random locations. It seems that after one lone attack was made, many more joined the cause. If we don't halt it soon, we may have a rebellion on our hands."

 

Silmor cringed at the words, stepping up off his throne and standing in front of the senator, his loomed over him with his imposing size.

 

"You have done well, senator, stepping up where others cowered away. But you were a fool to give me bad news."

 

Silmor's horn began to glow, Gale Wing shattering into millions of pieces like a crystal. The other senators looked in horror before averting back to the ground.

 

"And I will not tolerate foolishness."

 

Silmor now stood to face the senate, addressing them all as he spoke.

 

"Rebellion, war. We saw these things brewing bellow the surface, and I was prepared. I have set in place the foundations of expansion, to further enforce our rule on the lands. Soon the lands of Equestria will be ours.I need but two more hours, two hours to bring froth my guard, to gather our strength. We shall gather in the courtyard. Prepare to move out."

Loro followed the two gratefully, scampering along on all fours. He was small compared to the others, and found himself wondering what they were. Aura vaguely resembled an Ore dragon, minus the armour... and colour. She also had wings. As for Rift... well he was unlike anything Loro had seen before. Luckily, Loro's trusting nature put appearances out of the way in place of personality. This whole place was strange, and he didn't want to be alone, so he stuck close to them.

"I was talking to my great grandmother, Twilight Sparkle." Star explained "And talking to her helped me figure out what, I'm supposed to do. Although, I'd rather eat and figure out who you ponies are" Star said "I didn't get to fully introduce myself, my name is Star Flare, Princess of Equestria, or at least what's left of it." Star said awkwardly. She looked over to the Pegasus that had nursed her wound and smiled. "Thank you, and please tell me, what's your name?"

Silmor approached Quickjet, well, the encased statue of Quickjet. His horn glowing,he slowly freed him, letting him stumble to the ground in exhaustion. Silmor gave him a solid kick to the gut before instructing the guards to carry him to the courtyard with haste. They had so little time left to act, the rebellion had to be halted.

 

The guards tossed the colt into the centre of the courtyard, all around him stood hundreds, nay, thousands of soldiers armed to the teeth. The Lord Silmor now stood by Quickjet's side, nudging him to stand up. He let his horn glow as he began the next stage of the ritual.

 

"Today we march to war, today we eliminate those who have stood before us! The plane between reality is weak, weak enough for us to gain access. The link has been made, our armies ready!...   Will you stand with me!?"

 

A loud cheer came from the ranks of soldiers as they readied themselves for war.Silmor turned to Quickjet, an evil grin on his face. The amulet around the colts neck began to glow as Silmor commanded it.A searing pain ran through Quickjet's body as it gained power.

 

"The Alicorn Amulet; a weapon crafted by my father, now a tool to end the war!"

 

Silmor looked to the suffering colt, confident of victory this day.

 

"I bet your wondering what I'm going to do to you. Oh don't worry, you will live to see this land burn. I merely needed your magical link to your partner, a link that I amplified to send thousands of troops into the heart of the enemy.You have done this Empire a great service."

 

A portal began to open around Quickjet, becoming bigger each second until the entire yard was engulfed in a searing bright light. Seconds later the army was gone, leaving no trace of them being there other than a large scorch mark.

 

 

As Skye turned to see the source of the noise, she was greeted with the malevolent glare of Silmor, tossing her and another strange mare aside with his horn. He was soon followed by thousands of soldiers, begging to let out cheers of war. Silmor raised his hoof and let forth his vassals. They began to destroy everything in their path,leaving no home untouched. The guard were too slow to respond, instantly overwhelmed by the sudden appearance of the enemy.

 

"Thank you, Skye. This would have been impossible without you."

 

The necklace shattered around Skye's neck, leaving pieces of crystal scattered on the cobblestone. Quickjet appeared behind Silmor, staggering forward in hope that he might reach her.

 

"Spend your moments wisely, for they will be your last."

 

Silmor gave one last glare as he walked back to rejoin his forces. The scourging of the city had begun.

He was now right in front of these ponies. Swish noticed the mare's look and stance. She obviously didn't want him to intervene with anything she is or would be doing. He ignored the question for now, and looked at this small group of three. Two mares (one wounded) and a colt. Swish went back to the question.

"No, I'm not a soldier." He wasn't entirely sure if that was good or not to her. "Unless, you try to kill me, you have nothing to fear." Swish said light-heartidly. "I think it would be a good time to know your names."

She said glancing over towards Loro. Rift then suggested they get out of the streets. "Yeah i suppose that is a good idea...we dont want to get in any more touble than we already have." She added. Rift then spotted an warehouse that appeared to me empty. "Sounds like a good place to hide for a bit." Aura agreed as they both went towards the warehouse. Loro came along as well ,but Aura didn't really mind at all. In fact she liked, having another dragon friend to keep her company despite her shy nature.

 

As the trio entered the warehouse ,Aura noticed it looked incredibly old and fragile. "Uhh you sure we should go in here Rift?" Aura said. "This warehouse really looks like it could collapse at any moment." she added.

Rift looked at the warehouse and then back down the streets at the two frozen guards. "Over Here!!! There two are frozen stiff!" RIft turned back to the Aura, "I think the guards dont take kindly to strangers." Rift nudged open the door to the warehouse and ducked inside. It was old yes but looked structurally sound. It was empty. Rift turned to the two dragons that had entered behind him. "I believe our choices are to remain here until the guards leave, or find another way out and head back the way I came. There were several other ponies there, maybe they know what is going on"

Loro remained silent, thinking carefully. There was no time to wonder where he was, after all, they were in danger! He tilted his head to one side, thinking of a solution to the problem. His friend needed to escape... but there were guards in the way...
An idea formed. He could distract the guards! Scamper out, and let them chase him leaving his friends free to escape. He was small and fast, so it'd be easy to outrun them and find a hiding place. Besides, even if they did catch him, what's the worst that could happen? They wouldn't hurt him... would they? Loro shook his head simply; Of course they wouldn't hurt him. He'd done nothing to them. "I... I have an idea!" Loro whispered. "I'll distract the guards, then you can find those... um... ponies." Loro had no idea what a pony was, but if his friends were happy, then he was happy.

The trio heard voices behind them. "Oh no, more guards!" Aura said. Rift went inside the warehouse as Aura and Loro followed behind him. Rift then suggested 2 options: either stay in the warehouse and wait for the guards to pass by or find another way out. Aura was thinking about what to do until Loro started to speak up and say that he'd distract the soilders. "What!?!?" Aura said somewhat shocked "And leave you behind?" "No way am i leaving a friend behind." she said shaking her head totally against the idea. She turned to Rift. "What do you think Rift?" Aura asked. "I vote we stay here until the guards pass," "Then you can lead the way to a safer place for us." she added.
