Quickjet glanced at Skye at the mention of 'adventu' and 'fun'.

"I think we should go anywhere we can to get help."

He turned to the rest of the group.

"I feel like this is all my fault. Canterlot may be destroyed because of me..." his head sunk, and his thick glasses slid down his snout, punctuating his remorse. SkyeRibbon neighed softly at him, and went to brush them up. Her hoof hovered around his muscular neck, nearly in perfect alignment at the height of her eyes. A necklace similar to hers.

"Jet....what is this." He nickered sadly to her.

Skye spun to face the unicorns of the group.

"What is around his neck?!" She shrieked.

At long last, Loro woke up, uncurling slowly and sorely, then looking at his surroundings wide eyed in fear. The street he was on was deserted and ransacked, debris littering the cobbled ground. A small fire burned in one of the houses, and he could hear more burning from far off. The soldiers had completely ransacked this area. The worst shock came, however, after Loro raised his head to the unfamiliar blue expanse above him.

 

The sky was filled with black shapes, some drifting and others fighting, miles above the ground. The sight if the void beasts fuelled the ever-growing terror in Loro's heart, and he whimpered. He had arrived here at completely the wrong time; this world was close to destruction. His friends were nowhere to be seen, probably long gone by now.

 

He was alone. The dragon rose to his feet, determination on his face. This was no time to be a timid weakling! If he was to make it out of here, then he would have to use every talent and skill he had. Ideas started to form, options about what to do, and Loro whirred thoughtfully. He could try and find his friends, then stick with them...

 

But they could be anywhere by now, besides, why would they care about him. He'd only slow them down with his weakness.

 

He could stay here, wait for all this chaos to blow over...

 

And risk capture? Besides, what if it didn't blow over? What if he was stuck here forever, hiding in fear of death from cruel soldiers or heartless monsters?

 

Or... he could use his talents to his advantage! While fighting had never been his thing, Loro knew loads about machinery. If he could scavenge some scrap metal, and key components from around the war-torn city, then he could build a return ticket home! A depot machine would be hard to make, especially if he had to make do and mend, but it was his only chance. Loro smiled to himself, proud of the idea, then darted off into the city. He needed parts, and fast!

Ace went over and got a good look at Skyes and Quickjet's necklace. Hmm there both the same, when Silmor appered Skye fell over, Quickjet appered and Silmor thanked her so... Ace was staring at teh necklace as if in a trance =, his eyes widen in surprised as it hit him. "Oh no I know what it is."

Rift looked out over the crystal empire from his vantage point beyond the veil. He could only see shadows so he stepped back into reality. looking down he saw  the group he had been with before. He listened to Princess Star Flare's explanation. At its end he stepped away from the party. He would not join them just yet, but he would join them eventually. Something kept drawing him to that party. He hoped the princess knew what she was doing.

But before he could join them he turned to the beasts roaming the streets of the Crystal Empire. There were only a few on the ground. and he could not defeat the ones in the sky, at least not yet. He would deal with them first. Then he would join with the others

"I'm sorry, you all deserve an explanation. Although, I'll explain on the way, we're headed for The Luna mountain range." Star said as she slid off of Ace's back and began to head west. "My name is Princess Star Flare, the year is 2105, Ace I believe your from 2089, The Golden Age of Equestria, also know as 'The Sisters' Reign'. My ancestor-I believe you knew her, Ace-Twilight Sparkle, took over when the sister's reign ended." Star continued. "Ponyville was lost in the war with someone I think you two have gotten well acquainted with" She said to QuickJet and Skye. "Silmor, heir to King Sombra, he attacked Equestria 20 years after the defeat of his father at the hands of my great grandmother, Twilight." Star noticed Ace's eyes lit up every time she mentioned Twilight Sparkle. "After the war, Equestria fell, only a few places under the reign of my mother still exist. Silmor's grasp ever expands, still his minions scout our borders." Star explained "As for the moment, my mother has been possessed by an unseen darkness, whom was responsible for all the challenges 'The Mane 6' faced. This darkness sought to destroy the whole of Equestria, why? that I don't know, but I do know we need to stop it. We're going to sneak back into the Canterlot Castle and find the spell I need in the 'Twilight Sparkle' section of the library." She finished, then she put her hoof in the center of their 'group' and said cornily "Whose with me?"

 

(Sorry for not posting for awhile.....exam week is a killer)

 

"Count me in too!" Aura said cheerfully. She knew the world was now in peril and she wanted to make things right. "But first i would like to search for my friend Loro." Aura said ."I can't help but feel concerned  for his safety  despite his courage." She added. "You guys can go on ahead  and  i'll catch up eventually" she said going towards the last place she had seen Loro. "Ill se you guys later" jumping down into the strom drain on the search for her lost friend .

Loro scampered from building to building, salvaging the materials he'd need to build parts. The dragon felt a little guilty for stealing from the citizens, but the realisation that none of them would be returning in the near future dampened this. After just a few hours, he'd collected a myriad of metal items. He returned each handful to his 'base'; an empty warehouse on the street. With the small fortune of metal at his feet, Loro decided at last that it was time to get started. Umm... Get started...

 

He had no idea of where to start. Depot machines were insanely difficult to build, especially when he was making do with scrap... It would take all of his technological knowledge to do this and so, at last, the ore dragon got to work.

Swish kept up with the rest of the group, near the front. He checked his compass. The group was heading east, which was the right way to go (as far as he knew). Even though Swish has lived in this land for four or so years, he still could not get his directions right.

"Hoofington, huh?" Swish asked, "At this point, I don't think it's possible to simply fly under the radar." He plucked some long grass to his left and began to clean the blood off of his sword. "And Cloudsdale..." Swish looked at his back. "Not all of us have wings. How are we going to get up there and stay up there?"

Star began to compile all of the possible ways to get to Cloudsdale in her head, to realizing that she was disregarding Ace. She looked to her left and heard Ace's question. "Oh, sorry Ace, I didn't here you. Well, She brought forth the first Industrial age, canons, steam power, magic powered machines as well. She also created thousands of Spells for thousands of uses, teleporting long distance, she made the device we used to get here, and even simultaneously defeat a mass of enemies, like the spell I used--note I didn't kill the guards, just knocked them out;Twilight didn't believe in killing needlessly-- and hundreds more. She lived her full life and died in her sleep with my mother at her side. I still miss her, it was nice to see her again, in my dream, I mean."  Star Flare felt a single warm tear slide it's way down her face. "And to answer your question Swish, we'll cross that bridge when we get there, I have to think more about it, as for Hoofington, I have friends there, they'll help us." Star finished confidently, though she felt it wasn't going to be that easy.

Aura was wandering underground looking for Loro. The ice cold water she was in was very refreshing to her. The pain from the earlier  skirmish melted away. "Huh?!" Aura said. She heard a rumbling noise. Aura was shaking as she heard a growling like noise. Before she could do anything else all of a sudden a dark figure emerged from behind her.It looked like a mutated worm.  "AHH!!" Aura screamed as the beast wrapped her up.

Loro stood back, proud of his work. He'd turned a wooden cart into a atomic push mechanism, in other words, a mine depot machine. Makeshift cogs sat along holes in the cart, and long metal poles of different sizes pointed to a central point upon the cart.

 

Loro smiled sadly. "This isn't going to work." he said softly. The chances of the machine even activating were slim, and teleportational capabilities were even thinner. Not to mention the serious risks of if it did work... Matter placement was a tricky subject. He stood nervously next to the machine, afraid to turn it on for fear of what it might do.

 

A thought occurred to him, something that had slipped his mind completely throughout the construction process.

 

"Aether!" Loro cried aloud, amazed at his foolishness. Without aether, there was no way that he'd get anywhere... But where could he get it from? The attacks that the horned ponies were using looked similar to aether... maybe he could look into that. Determined for his creation to function, Loro got to work. Gathering aether was going to be hard... and dangerous...

Loro stood round the corner, his nerves on edge. This plan had the potential to go horribly wrong and, given his track record here so far, that potential was more like fate..

 

Around the corner were two unicorn guards, separated from their group and terrified of the invading shadows. Attempting to regain some of their previous dignity, the guards still stood to attention, hiding nervous glances with military stance.

 

Suddenly, Loro leapt out from where he stood, dashing across the courtyard. The unicorns reacted, pelting the air around him with searing hot bolts of magic. Loro had no idea what those bolts would do if they hit him, and so he ran faster, ducking and dodging the beams. At last, the unicorns stopped firing, and he skidded to a halt, standing still.

 

One of the guards grinned, charging energy for a second, before launching a huge bolt of energy at Loro, a bolt nearly half his size. The dragon looked on in fear, frozen by the oncoming energy. At last he broke from this trance, pulling something from behind his back; a cylindrical device made from metal. It was crude, but it did the job; the bolt hit a funnel, and was pulled into the gadget. There was no time to congratulate himself however, more bolts began to hit the ground near him and, once again, the dragon ducked and dodged the bolts. This time, a few sparks seared his tail, but in a matter of seconds, Loro had escaped. He'd also gathered something. Aether.

Swish chuckled a bit, "Well, sweet pencil sharpener alarm clock, now isn't that an interesting turn of events? I mean, we're not even in Hoofington yet!"

Suddenly, the sound of hoof steps came from farther up the path. He didn't know what it was, but odds are, it was probably the worst thing that can happen, knowing his luck due to a lack of a moustache. He could never get over that.

"Well, we can ask questions later, but now I think we should act natural..."

As Rift walked he felt around him for the nearest void beast. to his surprise it was below him. He couldn't warp to someplace he couldn't see so he had to find another way down. "HELLO?" he called, not truly expecting an answer

"He-!" she screamed but got interrupted as the beast wrapped her up past her mouth and she couldn't talk or breathe or even use her ice breathe she was defenseless. "No it can't end here!" Aura thought to herself. She couldn't move and the beast looked very hungry opening its pitch black mouth. Aura could only shake in fear as it drew her in closer to its mouth.

"He-!" she screamed but got interrupted as the beast wrapped her up past her mouth and she couldn't talk or breathe or even use her ice breathe she was defenseless. "No it can't end here!" Aura thought to herself. She couldn't move and the beast looked very hungry opening its pitch black mouth. Aura could only shake in fear as it drew her in closer to its mouth.

"Aura!" Rift activated his claws and tore into the flesh of the creature. He was surprised when the dimensional rift didn't suck the creature back to the Void. "So you are natural to this dimension are you?" Rift tore into the leech again, this time being rewarded by a scream of pain. Again he slashed and the creature recoiled enough for him to grab Aura and run.

A few minutes of running later he stopped. He turned to his dragon companion "Do you know a way out? I'd rather not run into that thing again, or another one for that matter."

Aura was relieved when Rift came to the rescue and saved her from the leech. "Thank you so much!" Aura said happily. "I thought I was a goner." she said hugging Rift. Rift asked about a way out as he didn't want to be there any longer. Aura didn't blame him either this area was dangerous as it was and who knew what else was around them. The dragoness looked around until she spotted a area if light coming from the ceiling. "Over there!" she said running over there. The sunlight was coming from a small gap but it was very small they could barely fit. Aura barred her claws and slashed away at the stone chipping some if it away and making the gap bigger. "Lets get out of here" Aura said finally getting out of the dark and into the light.

"Get me out of this blasted city, Canterlot is lost!"

 

The streams of the teleport encircled Silmor and his guard sending away in a blink of light. The halls of the palace now lied empty only with the caucuses of the felled creatures and fallen guard. Silmor reappeared in the courtyard of the Crystal Empire instantly beginning to assess his losses. Of the thousands that stormed the city only 600 stood before him, tired and restless. The attack was a failure though the plan was brilliant.

 

The walls between realities were breaking, though this made it easier for both teleportation and mass jumps, it also opened the way for what ever beasties were on the other side. The Crystal Empire would never fall to any kind of warp spawn, Silmor would make sure of that. His plan of making the dimensional bridge between the two prisoners was a success, able to transport thousands of troops in an instant,following a mere magical bond. It was uncanny. The only real question was what to do now?

 

That thing, that pony like thing that continuously ripped holes in reality for conventional use, the one that escaped his grasp ad knew about the void beasts.What could he be used for? What could Silmor do with that sort of power? He stroked his amulet with his hoof, eagerly thinking over the next stages of his plan. He turned to his guards.

 

"Ready the Timberwolf pack. We have some hunting to do."

"I got Loro's trail so im going to go find him." Aura said to Rift. "You can come along if you want." she adds already walking ahead back into the city.

"Wait a minute." she said her tail swishing back and forth. She sniffed the air for a sec and then onto a certain patch of the cobblestone she and Rift were on. "This smells familiar." Aura mumbled until she realized suddenly. "Oh this must be Loro's scent." Aura said. "He mustve been here". All dragons had a certain scent to them that identifies who they are and where they've been. Only dragons couldn't sense this so Aura didn't really expect Rift to understand. "I got Loro's trail so im going to go find him." Aura said to Rift. "You can come along if you want." she adds already walking ahead back into the city.

Rift nodded. "Ill come with you. I can't take out any Void beast with my claws depleted. Or rather it will take too long to defeat them." He didn't continue his explanation because the Void and anything involved with it usually took hours to explain. So, which way is Loro?"
