Older Ponies

Just curios bout this, I am 30  years old but am a major brony. Just wanted to know if anyone else my age group or older is also a fan of the show. I originaly started watching the show becuase my niece and nephew both enjoyed it, however i have found that the show somehow  takes the edge of my PTSD  (fought in Iraq, and Afghanistan). It helps me to focus on the happy moments in life, and blot out the darkness in my past. So just wanted to know if I was one of the one few bronies of my age group or if there are others =)

Sadly, I'm not in this group (literally half your age, and would probably die immediately if put on the front line) but I'm certain that there is quite a large number of, shall we say, elder bronies. Hey, everybody loves ponies! It's just a matter of time before you find at least one around.

The fact that MLP helps with your PTSD is quite interesting. I've never heard of something like this before, and I think that it's quite inspirational. Pony on!

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

I'm in the teenage group, but I like to think that on a certain maturity level (that expresses itself once in a blue Luna-moon) I am more akin to someone of an older age.

And I've seen lots of 20+ years old bronies here and on other sites. You just gotta coax them out...for some reason, most of them seem very quiet to me.

Starting philosophical threads or ones that provoke heavy discussion seem to bring them all crawling out of the woodwork.

I'm 22 years old as well, and I like the show as a method of taking my mind off more serious things in life. After all, we all have the right to be silly now and again no matter how old we become.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adults themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence...When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." - C.S. Lewis

Love this quote. It becomes my excuse for why I watch ponies when my friends antagonize me about it.

I am turning 27 next month so I am not 30 yet but am getting close, I haven't been through something as traumatic as war thank God but have still been through a few tough times. I am going through some mild depression and quite a bit of anger and resentment at the way my life has turned out right now and MLP is helping a little.

I love C.S. Lewis so very much. I'm sure he'd be a brony. Imagine him writing for the show...  There'd be a wardrobe that leads to this magical land... ;)
