~Master~ Button Mash 2,308 December 15, 2012 Share December 15, 2012 (edited) This is my first ever digital pony. Did it in GIMP with my new Wacom Bamboo that I picked up at Best Buy today. It's a simple image - a single layer, 585 x 381 pixels. More of an exercise than a serious art attempt. Can't wait to see what I can do once I begin to incorporate more layers, work with a bigger canvas, and better calibrate the pen (just using defaults at the moment). I was actually trying to reference her from my hoodie, while I was still wearing it. It was quite the sight. I'm a noob, I know. So please, criticize to your heart's content, Celestia knows I could use some advice... Little Miss Fluttershy 678 December 15, 2012 Share December 15, 2012 It will look a lot better than my first digital art I will be doing in a few days after my tablet arrives from the mail. The pony nose was a little different, but it's really good for first time users with digital art. 1 Signature made by Cloud Chaser. Ask her to make you one! Zhooves 843 December 15, 2012 Share December 15, 2012 Way more original than my first attempt, which was a recolour of Rainbow Dash... Which I also failed at, as I wasn't supposed to include the wings! 1 So I took this personality-test... And apparently, I'm most like Fluttershy~2015- edit - not too much has changed, but now I'm a wee bit more like Twilight~
Dusty Soul 2,614 December 15, 2012 Share December 15, 2012 (edited) The neck is really long and thin. The head is to slender . It looks good though, keep at it. Nicely done. Better then my first try at it. Better then my first try at it. Oh yeah, the neck. I was originally going to do a body but I had trouble looking up a body tutorial (my Internet gets sporadic sometimes). So I decided to crop it down a bit, extend the neck and give it an oekaki-style. My body attempts were...sub par. Grab a vector, and draw helping circles over it in a new layer, and maybe do basic sketches using these as well as images as a reference to where goes what - that way you'll get practice for it, and it might stick in the end~ I still use one every now and then (though even then I'm not 100% dependent on it... Just for small details~) 1 So I took this personality-test...
