(LATE RESPAWNSE LIEK A BAWS) I wish my advice would actually do you good, but I can't guarantee anything as my mind is a very dark, twisted place on its own :X

 

What I do when I read a fic like that (although I've only read two, Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory, and don't intend to read any more) is make another story to explain how everything bad that happened in said fic could be avoided from a broader viewpoint.

 

For example, in my Rainbow Factory Part 2 fic I'm writing, I'm making in-depth explanations as to why everything is as it is. I check each explanation through according to my own lore and look at each different possible challenge to said explanations until I know every reason for everything ever and have very possible theories to back them up. Once I do this, I am literally free to do whatever I want to the story and twist its meanings to fit my tastes.

 

As one way to do so, you could simply explain the events of the fic as a nightmare one of the characters had, then continue to make the nightmare part of a revelation of sorts the character has that improves upon his or her development.
