Hello everyone, I'm HushedWren, and I would very much like to make your acquaintance. ^^

 

I've been part of this wonderful, somewhat tumultuous, community for a solid year as of the first. Though I have only really been an observer, an Anon, and a silent, avid fan, I've decided that its time I put my foot (or should I say hoof?) into the more active side of the fandom.

 

A little bit about me; I enjoy reading, mostly novels, though I've had a particular fondness for fanfiction for a number of years now. Writing is also my passion, I admit I'm rather mediocre with the medium of pencils on sketch paper (though that truthfully hasn't stopped me from trying IRL) but give me a couple hours, a six pack of Cherry Coke, and a laptop and I will write you something wonderfully...decent. I'm still improving, and that's always a good thing, but I went on a hiatus a while ago and am just now coming back. I'm extremely rusty from it, mind you, but that hasn't stopped me.

 

I joined this site because I'm a brony (or pegasister, if you prefer) in need of bro's. In real life I've always been the Fluttershy of my small group of friends, and of them only my very best one is as inclined to equines as I. So I thought 'Hey, the Internet is there for a reason!' so I hope you all would like to include me in your group of friends...or acquaintances...or people you talk to just to hear rant about conspiracy theories/fanon/headcanons just because you find it entertaining/funny.

Well, that's a relief. I was nervous that I'd made my opening statements a smidgen too formal. But thank you! It's nice to meet another Mental-Twilight, Social-Fluttershy. I find it to be a very awkward combination; to be an egghead with a mind bursting with facts and ideas but the moment you're around someone to voice them you freeze up and stutter.

 

But thank you for the warm welcome! And I love the avatar, by the way, Sonic has always been a fond childhood memory, and Tails is such a sweetie. X3

This is officially my first day on the site! So I'm pretty much a newbie, and even with your absence you're probably more grounded than I am, and my ponysona is a Pegasi.

And thank you! I'm glad that my introduction into this lovely little community impressed you. Writing is my passion, as I've said before, and I try to keep up a certain amount of propriety about it to keep up good habits.

 

And you, my dear, are an interesting creature if I do say so myself. Loyal, magical, kind, and honest? Well, aren't those wonderful personality traits! Though the shyness is a bother, as I am painfully aware of, but once you find you're group it can be forgotten quite easily...till strange, new people come around.

 

But yes, thanks a whole bunch for the complements!

I personally can't stand the lack of proper grammar and punctuation, nowadays. I'm very asinine about my own stuff, constantly checking it over for grammatical errors and the like. It just kills me to glance through a comment someone posted and they don't under stand the difference between you're and your. 

 

This generation? No, though I find the mass infestation of 'Swagz' and 'lolz, 420, txt me naked pics bby' to be slightly disturbing, I still find hope in my generation. People succumb to popular culture a little too quickly nowadays, but there's hope yet. I mean, I used to be a *shudders* Twilighter who squealed over Edward/Bella, but then I really looked at the books. Those movies, I swear, I don't understand how people can romanticize such an unhealthy relationship.

 

But, yes, being all you can be is the best possibly thing, so keep it up! 

 

Also, if you like Twilight, I apologize, I was only using that as an example.

I'm enjoying myself very much here, I love the broad range of topics that are debated and expanded upon. It's just not all 'Twilight is best pony!' which she is but there's some sustenance here, which is exactly what I thrive on!

 

I know what you mean! It's so frustrating. Like I don't want to be all alone all my life, but that's the only time I can express myself. It's tough. But it's so much easier for me here. ^^

 Ugh, I totally understand your meaning, real life is just so arduous, you know? And trying to express yourself honestly can backfire and turn you into a sort of social pariah. I was always the bookish, quiet loner who's nose was always firmly stuck into a graphic novel or fantasy tome of some sort. It's hard being nerdy when you're a girl, especially when you're a nerdy tomboy girl who finds the graphic tee's in the boys section more interesting than the skirts in the girls. Then when you actually want to dress effeminately to feel pretty you get 'those' looks likes "why are you trying to get normal now, we still think you're a freak." ><

 

Yes, IRL friendships are important, but sometimes you need to broaden your horizons and find your own flock, so to speak. 

 

...oh, sorry. I just got really ranty, huh. ^^;

I feel so honored, that's certainly a title I haven't thought of myself, even being a word smith. I'm sorry, that just really neat. It made me squeal a little bit.

 

And in social situations I resemble Fluttershy more than my perceived pony equivalent, Twilight Sparkle. Our love of books and learning and the very prominent OCD is certainly something we have in common, though I doubt she'd freeze up and find a corner to hide in at a party or the like. Thanks for the warm welcome, I hope we can be friends!
