I can relate to the fact it is awkward telling your parents, though if they asked me specifically if I watched the show I would answer honestly, besides it isn't a secret.. I see it as something normal I like.. I mean, I like video games and I don't call my parents when I like a new game that I got. If you don't make a big deal about it, most people also won't make a big deal about it. (I should add this only counts for people you are casually/closely related to, the internet is very different! ) It ain't a confession or anything, just a hobby you talk about IF the topic comes up. But if I get a question like; "What do you like?" I answer "Cartoons" instead of specifically ponies.. It is both the truth and sometimes smarter when in companionship with.. people who are gonna hate you for it but you need for various reasons (job/school).
