Unskilled artist nead "help"

Hi !

My request might seem unusual and I must explain something about me before.

I’m also not sure if it will fit in the topic, it’s not really about art but about deviantart. So please godlike-moderator, forgive me if I did wrong.

I’m not into the “internet social stuffs” at all.

I’m not on facebook or twiter, or any forum.

MLP forum is THE exception, and I was so happy to fell like staying on it, I even celebrated my hundred brohoof http://mlpforums.com/topic/40665-my-thanks-to-the-forum/.

But, due to my paranoia, and the fact that I’m just not good with computers, I don’t know how to “be” on the internet, if you know what I mean.

And now here’s where I need your help.

I have a DA account since one year, it was first made for a work for my business school.

I first used it as an example for this work, then I posted a few arts on it (if you can call this art, my gosh it’s even worse than my actual level).

I didn’t care about getting feedback, and the main point was to have an URL of my drawings so I can repost them.

But a few weeks ago someone watched me, I watched him back, we had a nice chat.

And then another one, and another one. Now there’s 5 peoples watching me, and they are in “groups”.

I sincerely like this, having some feedback (it’s still practically nothing but that count a lot for me), talking, but this “group” thing perplex me.

Is that a way I could bring more peoples to see me?

And what group would you suggest for a low skilled brony artist like me?

Thank you for your help.

Hi! I also have a deviantart account. What's your username? Groups are a great way to get critique from others. There are many types of groups, each with their own style. Choose a group that is well rounded and accepts any type of art. I would love to see your art!

You want more views? Social media is the way to go.

If you don't like using social media, it might be a slow-go until you embrace them.

You can put the link on your mlp signature to start...

hootsuite.com is a way to manage social media from one spot, but you'll first have to sign up from each respective site. Twitter & FB are the usual useful sites.

Tumblr.com is an addicting, image-based, type of blogging community where people post and share posts. Just be sure to enter your tags.

I'm an art director/graphic designer/illustrator for a living. If you need help regarding art and promotion, I'm happy to help you in anyway I can.

Go to the groups page here: http://groups.deviantart.com/ and search for a group you're interested, by typing a keyword in the seach box. This will help you find the group you're looking for.

Woah!

Now there’s a professional advising me.

The signature: that so obvious I feel stupid that it’s not already done.

Since I really don’t like facebook policy with picture, and the way they make it hard to be informed of it, I won’t change my mind about this website.

Tumblr I’m waiting for my artist skills to increase, since I want to go for a “ask-…..” type Tumblr.

Thank you for the good, and rich answer.

Allready saw your DA, love the MLP memes.

Also thank you for indicating me how to found those "groups".

Hope to find some good ones ;) .

I suggest scouting for groups that auto-accept  or let your work (some groups like equestria digital only let in the best of the best) then send your art in to them its like free advertising :P derpydeponson.deviantart.com
