Righteous Fury 344 April 2, 2013 Share April 2, 2013 The lack of an antagonist was actually one of the things I liked best about the episode. If you want to have an episode about a character overcoming their fears, it's simple and obvious to create a bully or naysayer to constantly mock and harry them and who can be shown up at the end. Not having one freed up a lot of time that would otherwise have been spent in pointless confrontations and put it to good use by focusing on the character that the episode is actually about. This. I got the impression Fluttershy knew nobody was really making fun of her, but that didn't stop the bad memories. Another good thing about it was how Fluttershy never really conquered her fears, there was no big moment like in Dragonshy where she decided to stand up for herself. She's still scared at the end, but she goes through with it because her friend is counting on her.
