I was going to post this in the "saddest thing" thead, but I think it deserves its own. Also, I did a search on "troppo" and only found two matches.

 

Hadn't seen it in years; just found it on YouTube, and it's still an affecting piece. If you love animation, you'll enjoy how well the overall concept is executed here, given its ambition. I think it's fair to call it a masterful bit. The entire film (Allegro non Troppo, 1976, Italian) is great, too. It was meant to be a parody of Disney's Fantasia but this ain't no Disney...

This morning, I watched the above video again and got all moody.

 

I'm posting a much funnier cat cartoon to offset the first one.   And it's a good piece of work, too. One of my favs.

I saw something from Allegro non Troppo a while back, this one cartoon about creatures evolving until all of them were driven to extinction, except for this evil monkey. It was interesting.

Yup - it's been awhile, but I believe that was one of the segments.

 

It's mostly a comedy, but the unfunny parts seem to be the ones which left a lasting impression on the audience...
