My First Pony Drawings

Hey guys,

 

I'm trying to get better at drawing,so I sat down and drew my three favorite ponies. Any criticism is welcomed, but remember this is my first time drawing ponies.

aw man , you don't listen to me ,aren't you ? As I say , you should sketch in paper first , when you getting better , than you can sketch it over digital. I know this so complicated , but that's how sketch work . I suggest to redraw pony first.

I didn't go straight to digital art. I did listen to you actually, and I did sketch them out. These drawings are sketches, that I'm trying yo get better at. These are on printer paper, and I scanned them.

I know this is supposed to be about the drawings, but I can't get over that "Great Scott!" Fluttershy avatar. XD

But back to business: those drawings aren't half bad. They need work, but hey, you're doing better than me.

Nice job for a first try, dude. However, I recommend that you save your pictures as an image (e.g. .jpg, .png), rather than as a pdf. It would make viewing the drawings much easier!  

 

And don't forget--practice makes perfect.

lol, I'm very very sorry , I thought you draw it digital and using mouse. My bad. Keep up at sketching , don't lose hope , I know you can be an artist. Just keep sketching , try to use skeletal, it' easier to sketch when you draw skeletal. First.

No problem. We all make mistakes, and sorry if I seemed to mad about it when I replied. I'm gonna try to do some more tommorrow, and when I think I'm ready then I'll go to digital art. Thanks again for the advice.

These look good for a first time. Keep practicing, that's all I can say. If it helps break the figures down to basic shapes first than flesh them out. I know EQD had some helpful tutorials. Keep it up, you'll get the hang of it.

Not at all bad for your first time. I can kind of tell that you are really calculated in where you place your lines - which is generally a good thing - but Digiral makes a good point in that it's easier to sketch some light skeletal frames, then start drawing in the finer details; in addition to giving you a better idea of proportions, it'll also help you gain a feel for where exactly things like the eyes, ears, mouth etc. should fall. It really does make a whole world of difference...comparing my old from-memory drawings to ones I sketched out wireframes for really is like night and day.
