CT-1138 3,183 September 18, 2013 Share September 18, 2013 (edited) Darth Vader Part of the reason Vader has this appeal to me is because he's pretty much the Godzilla of Sith Lords: he doesn't always move fast, but then, he doesn't really NEED to. He can shrug off pretty much anything you throw at him, it's practically IMPOSSIBLE to keep him from getting to you, and when he does, you're dead. End of discussion. The man is a TANK- though his potential took a major hit after Mustafar, most of the Star Wars fans I've met over on the Jedi Council Forums agree with me that he was still more powerful by the time of the OT than was ROTS Anakin, because Anakin never APPLIED himself, never fully MASTERED his potential, and is quite arguably not even at the point that he was 80% as strong as the Emperor. Whereas Vader, with his lost potential and all, had MASTERED his potential to such a degree that he WAS. Whether it's mowing through crowds of fugitive Jedi, hurling Wookiees left and right (without breaking stride, no less!), Force Crushing ENTIRE AIRSPEEDERS, cutting of his son's hand, or choking the life out of some idiotic officer, Darth Vader is the man who introduced us to what a 'Sith Lord' WAS, and still to this day is THE most ICONIC. From the moment he steps through the doorway in ANH and James Earl Jones utters the first lines in the most epic voice you can imagine (like Morgan Freeman dipped in the Fountain of Power), you know this guy is gonna be an icon. Then, he goes on in another movie to receive one of the most memorable villain themes in cinematic history. Finally, in the OT finale, you find a character that is intensely humanized. You realize that not only is there a man behind the mask, that this man is the father of two of the OT's most important characters, that he's not only redeemable, but he is an intensely human character willing to go through the greatest of extremes in the Force in order to protect the ones he loves, often at the greatest of prices. 2. Lord Voldemort Conceived under a love spell and so incapable of love, the man is a seriously demented and evil wizard, perhaps the most evil wizard who had ever lived. He wrecks his very essence in an attempt at immortality, and is willing to murder a one year old without even flinching. He also makes it his life goal to suppress an entire blood pool of magic users, and surrounds himself with a group of disloyal thugs looking for protection and power. 3. Fire Lord Sozin The literal Hitler of cartoon villains, the man leaves his life long best friend to die in order to start a war the ravages the world for the next 100 years and tears apart the lives of countless people. He has no qualms over commuting genocide against an entire race of pacifist, peaceful monks, and then spends the rest of his life hunting down a 12 year old boy.
