Black Licorice 58 May 7, 2013 Author Share May 7, 2013 I'm one of those people who just aren't that creative, really. So I'm just gonna have to wait till I'm 18 when I can access my savings account. Don't give up on your dreams, keep sleeping.

Black Licorice 58 May 7, 2013 Author Share May 7, 2013 Wait, what are the qualifications? Anyway, the reason I need the mic is that I'm hoping to get into the music business as an artist, but can't do that without a mic. Does that sound selfish at all? Just asking because I don't wanna come across as a jerk. Don't give up on your dreams, keep sleeping.

Black Licorice 58 May 7, 2013 Author Share May 7, 2013 Absolutely no chance in hell of either happening. Youtube crashed our computer once and my parents wouldn't be too thrilled about me trying Kickstarter. Don't give up on your dreams, keep sleeping. Kamil 315 May 7, 2013 Share May 7, 2013 If your parents won't let you on YouTube (or are you saying that you refuse to go there on your own?) then there's not much you can do to start a music career or even just a little side project. Sure you COULD post on things like Pony.fm and soundcloud, but when it comes down to it YouTube is the biggest audience and you'll need all the help you can get. And finding a way to record at least one song before asking for money would be a good start regardless, even if it's not a great mic it would still show that you have the necessary skills and encourage trust that you actually will continue in the future. But if you want to get the money, you're going to have to give people a way to give you money. Even if you can't use YouTube, get a PayPal account and start asking for donations (preferably after you have something to show). This space intentionally left blank. Black Licorice 58 May 7, 2013 Author Share May 7, 2013 Once again, I'm screwed since I'm pretty sure that PayPal's almost like a credit card and not only would I not be able to afford monthly payments, but again, my parents would flip. As for Youtube, I'm banned. Don't give up on your dreams, keep sleeping.

Decibel 13 May 7, 2013 Share May 7, 2013 Look into getting a blue yeti microphone! It's $90 for the silver edition and completely worth every penny. I've had mine for a year now and people have told me it's even better than their more expensive ones. No matter the mic you get, make sure you have a pop filter and something to catch the sound behind the microphone (or else it'll bounce back and sound bad) Banned from youtube? That's a problem. If you even so much as think you want a career in music then you NEED to use it. I get it if your parents don’t want you using it, my cousin was a great singer and her parents were strict like that. But shes had an account and posted videos for over two years now without them finding out. Just don’t put your full name and use a stage one. Can I ask what kind of music you make?
