The mysterious figure moved closer to the couple, but he was stopped by a guard. "What is your buisness?" the guard asked. "None of yours." the figure replied, lifting up his hood. The figure turned out to be a zebra with an eerie permanent smile. "Ya wanna know how I got these scars?" the zebra asked, putting a razor blade up to the guard's neck.

ooc: is the zebra supposed to be like the joker from batman? cuz i remember seeing a batman movie where the joker was exactly like that rofl

ic: Epic Rainbow stood, shocked at what the zebra was doing. "Renegade," she said. "I would look behind you if I were you!" She quickly turned him around with her hooves.

"Let him go." Renegade told the zebra. The zebra simply looked at him and laughed. "I'm going to go now." the zebra said. "But I'll be back tonight for some fun." The zebra ran off. "Well, that was odd." Renegade said. "Shall we proceed to the castle, my dear?" he asked Epic Rainbow.

"Sure," replied Epic Rainbow. She started to the castle with Renegade at her side. The castle was much bigger than she imagined. They went inside and saw that it was bigger on the inside than on the outside. The ballroom was beautiful. "Can we go to the courtyard," she asked Renegade.

"Wow, there are so many books here!" Missy's mouth was open down to the floor, the Canterlot library was so huge.

"Well, we shouldn't stay here too long, we came here mostly to celebrate the Grand Galloping Gala too." Twilight responded quickly.

"Who knows, you might even meet a stallion." Twilight moved her eyebrows up and down at Missy.

"I don't feel comfortable talking about that kind of stuff, especially with you, you're my teacher." Missy excalimed.

"Sure, madamoiselle." he replied. As he led his date to the courtyard, he thought about what the zebra had said. What did he mean by "fun"? As he thought about this, he kissed Epic Rainbow...on the lips. Renegade facehoofed himself. Why had he done that? Was it because...No! Get those thoughts out of your head! he told himself.

Epic Rainbow blushed as Renegade kissed her on the lips. Oh my gosh, she thought. My first kiss!! She smiled and in her thoughts her wings started flapping and she floated upwards. Epic Rainbow was in love. She landed and grabbed Renegade by the hoof. She galloped to a dark corner and started kissing Renegade some more.

Missy was reading a book called History of Obscure Unicorn Magic, she was starting to get a little bit bored, the books she was reading weren't the most interesting.

"Missy, we'd better go join the celebrations. There's a lot of dancing." Twilight came in and said, Missy sighed.

"I guess i should go socialize. This dress isn't for reading." Missy ran out of the library towards the main event hall.

Fireblaze went to the outside balcony, began to looking at the sky see it a nice moon light out there and was thinking about someone while he was looking up there. Then he began to sing while he was thinking and humming into the sky too.

 

“There this one pony I have a crush on and her name is Rainbow Dash.”

 

“She is 100% Cool, want to join the wounderbolts and so do I too.”

 

“She dose the awesome sonic rainboom and it was super cool to see it.”

 

“Then one day I try to do a Rainboom and then I did it. I call It the Sonic Fireboom.”

 

“Since streak of fire coming out of my tail and it was awesome!!!!”

Renegade was beginning to enjoy this. But still, the zebra's words were still on his mind. He pushed Epic away for a moment. "What do you think that zebra meant by 'fun'?" The unicorn had a bit of terror in his voice. He then kissed his date some more. He hadn't told anypony, but he was in love.

"I don't know, but I also don't care!" Epic Rainbow kissed Renegade back. She could tell he liked her, but she wasn't sure how much he liked her. Epic Rainbow felt like she was on a thrill ride at an amusement park. The rush she felt when she kissed Renegade made her want to keep going forever.

Renegade liked Epic Rainbow. A lot. Just then, a crash was heard. "Did you hear that?” Renegade asked. He then grabbed his girlfriend's hoof and led to the sound's source. What they saw would change their lives forever: a lantern with a small green ring on top of it. Renegade levitated the ring to examine it.

ic: Epic Rainbow ran behind Renegade and then her eyes widened and she gaped in shock at the lantern and ring. "Where did it come from?" she asked. She walked around it, trying to figure out the answer to her own question.

Missy heard the crash too, just when she thought that it was safe to enjoy a gala without something going qrong, here it was.

Missy arrived just around the corner of where the two were, she looked around the corner, it was something weird, something green.

Missy cleared her throat. "Hello?"

Just then, the zebra from before appeared in front of Missy.

Renegade put the ring on his horn. His eyes glowed a bright green for a second, then went back to normal. "Whoa...that was weird..." the unicorn said. Just then he saw the zebra. "Don't you dare..." he told the creature. His eyes then became all green and he recited a mysterious chant:

 

"In brightest day,

 

in blackest night,

 

no evil shall escape my sight.

 

Let those who worship evil's might

 

beware my power...

 

GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!"

 

He then fired a blast of green magic at the zebra.

Missy was left speechless, absolutely speechless, this wasn't any kind of magic she had seen before, what was it? It was a lantern of some kind, but it didn't burn with fuel, she gulped, then galloped away as fast as she could.

"Ok, let's just get back to the Gala, we can still have a good time...right?" 

As Missy was running away, she bumped into a red stallion.

"Woah, watch where you're going." He said.

The zebra was laughing. "It looks like you won my game." he told Renegade. "What do you mean?" the unicorn asked. The zebra pointed at his chest. In the middle was a medium-sized hole about the size of a hoof. As the zebra laughed insanely, ehe kept on repeating "You won my game" over and over. Suddenly, he stopped. Renegade checked the zebra's pulse. "He's dead." he said to Epic Rainbow.

Ooc: what was the hole from?

Ic: "What just happened?" Epic Rainbow asked. She was very confused. "I'm so confuzzled!!!" she exclaimed. She had no idea what was going on. "Wait a minute...did you say he was dead? Is he the bad guy? Should I be happy he's dead or not?" Epic Rainbow just stood there for a while thinking and then finally ran inside to party.

Renegade followed her. He had to tell Celestia what happened. If he didn't...Renegade didn't wanna think about it. The zebra was dead. Plain and simple. He caught up with Epic Rainbow. Without thinking, he asked, "Will you marry me?" Renegade realized what he just said and ran off in embarassment.

Epic Rainbow was shocked but also flattered when Renegade asked her to marry him. He ran off, but she followed him. She could tell he was embarassed. "Renegade," she said as she caught up with him. "There's nothing to be embarassed about. But maybe it is a little too early for that since we just met today. Either way, I'm flattered." Epic Rainbow smiled and kissed him.

"True. Hey, Epic, I have a question. Do you love me? Be honest." Renegade was very curious to know. He patiently waited for her answer, He'd give her all the time in the world to answer. As he waited, he thought about the zebra. Who was he and why was he at the Gala? Obviously Celestia would know. So he decided to go see her. As he alked towards the princess, he felt VERY scared.

Epic Rainbow smiled and answered, "Of course I love you Renegade. I love you more than anypony I've ever met!" When Renegade started walking away, she ran to catch up with him. She still couldn't believe he asked her to marry him. I can't believe he wouldn't be sure if I love him, she thought. Epic Rainbow kissed Renegade on the cheek. He obviously had something bothering him.

Renegade looked at Epic Rainbow. "Ya know, this ring's got me kinda curious. What do you think it is?" he asked, levitating the ring in front of her. Maybe it was some sort of ancient artifact. But then again, what kind of ancient artifact looked so technologically advanced?

"Oh, i'm sorry, i wasn't watching where i was going." Missy blurted.

"No problem at all, Ms...?" The stallion asked.

"Starlight, Missy Starlight." Missy responded, still feeling a bit wobbly from what she had seen.

"Nice to meet you, i'm Fire Horn." Fire Horn threw out his hoof, Missy responded by kindly shaking it.

"I'm in a bit of a hurry, so excuse me." Missy said to Fire Horn, almost shoving past him. Fire Horn decided he would follow.

 

She flew around the corner behind the strange unicorn. "You, wait right there." Missy shouted. She teleported in front of him. "Who are you? What went on back there? Huh?" Missy appeared angry, but she was just frightened.

"Are you talkin' to me?" Renegade asked. He was getting defensive, so he put the ring on and charged a blast of magic at Missy. "'Cause if you are, don't think I won't use this magic blast." Renegade's eye glowed a dark green. He was prepared, and he'd defend his gal at any cost, even another pony's life.
