SwigglySwiggly 358 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 Hello guys! I haven't drawn on paper for a while. (a year or so) I want opinions on my drawings now. All opinions are appreciated, both good and bad, I'm looking to improve after all (is my digital drawings much different from my traditional drawings?) http://swigglyswiggly.deviantart.com/ Compare and criticize, should I stick with digital drawings? or should I also do traditional drawings? 7 Click on the links!: Here! & Here! Quilava 1,290 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 This is paper o_O!? If you didn't say it I wouldn't have thought that it was and would've guessed that it was digitally composed. Excellent work on the lines, I think those are what make the drawing nice and bold, helps it to stick out very well. Only thing I found off in this drawing was her front right hoof, there isn't much difference in the shading so it sort of makes her hoof look warped and unsure of its position. Other than that, it's a perfect piece~ 1 ^~Signature by Me~^ ~^Click on the Image above for already made signatures/graphics^~ Request A Signature | Have a Question? | Signature Tips/Tricks
Friendship_Cannon 1,676 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 Just like Lugia said: what? you made that on paper... holy ****, man. It´s great, I really like the lineart, and how you drew the head (eyes, ears, ...). The mane and tail look eytremely stylish, all that it misses is a bit of color maybe, but that could have as well ruined the picture, what do I know. The only, small thing is maybe that the neck is a tiny bit too long, but you should definitely keep drawing on paper as well as creating digital art! Signature made by the amazing ~Harmonic Dreams~ I always pictured you as a cross between Demoman and Pinkie Pie for some reason.
Sapphire Quill 1,186 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 (edited) Wow, I really love it, I wouldn't of thought that was a Hand drawn picture on paper, I would of thought it was Digital, Stunning work, I love your digital art aswell, both Amazing, I would continue with both, all the picture is lacking is colour, that's all, But I guess that was the Intention, ~Sapphie Edited May 28, 2013 by Sapphire Quill ♥ ✧ Made by Azura, Much Appreciated ✧
DashieLives 20 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 Woah, you got good skills xD maybe you could make a background behind the pony? I really like the drawing, but I'd find it better if you color, well, its up to you though. Nice artwork? SwigglySwiggly 358 May 28, 2013 Author Share May 28, 2013 Thanks guys, my pencils are really dull so I might go out and buy some coloured markers/texters. I'll also brush up on my shading and line thickness. Click on the links!: Here! & Here! Check out my drawings! ^^^
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 777 May 28, 2013 Share May 28, 2013 Nicely done, I'd say stick with both learning digital and traditional at the same time. Traditional is great because you'll have more control and can really feel the mediums you put into it. It also will give you a better understanding of how each medium you use reacts and how it's manipulated. Digital is fantastic because you can get the same effects of paint, inks and so fourth without having to burn a penny. I do have a question though, it pertains to what you used for your contour lines. Did you use Micron or Fountain/Dipping pens? ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ If you do not GO after what you want, you'll never have it. If you do not ASK, the answer will always be NO. If you do not step froward, you'll always be in the same place. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Want to learn how to draw ponies? Errrmmm... lol I'm not an artist with a good budget, I used a simple $1 fineliner that I found at K-mart. fineliners are quite similar to Microns. Ah ok, thanks. Although I may not have a K-mart around these parts I'm sure that there's some local shoppe's which'll have something similar. If you're interested in using Microns though, most art shops usually have online coupons for 50% one item. It'll drop the price to around $1.50 on average, much more affordable than that $3 price tag ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ If you do not GO after what you want, you'll never have it. SwigglySwiggly 358 May 28, 2013 Author Share May 28, 2013 There are no art shops near me, only K-mart and Office-Works. Whatever I can find is what I'll use. Australia needs more shop varieties.
