The Pulse 210 June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 (edited) So I've decided that when I get bored from now on, I'm going to try and make a background in Photoshop, and if I like it, then I'll post it here. Just FYI, I didn't draw Luna as I am nowhere near that talented. I just used the render I found off DA and different stocks and brushes. Resolution: 1920x1080 I might Edit this a bit more (lots o'black around the bottom edge that may be removed) And If you want to use the Desktop background, Go ahead! I get ecstatic when people like stuff I make (just make sure to let me know) So for all the Luna Lovers: Edited June 2, 2013 by The Pulse 10 Made By Me

Princess Periwinkle 3,775 June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 Lookin' good! I think I'll download this and add it to the desktop rotation. Mind you there's about fifty already in there, but I'm always looking for a new one to join the ranks!
Away 2,077 June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 Oh... My... God... This is amazing! I would so be using this for my desktop background if I wasn't a closet brony. And the resolution is just perfect for my computer too.

I would love to use what I create, However due to the fact that my Mom is the only person in the family who knows about me being a brony, I am unable to use the BG's I create. I might just use them and break it to the rest of the family that way, who knows. And thanks for liking it! Later on, after these become somewhat obscure I might put the .psd file up for download so people can see just what I did. I might just use it anyways and tell anyone who asks that it's from a video game or something. And what do you mean when you say you might put up a psd file? I'm a noob at this kinda stuff so sorry if it seems like a stupid question.
The Pulse 210 June 2, 2013 Author Share June 2, 2013 (edited) A .psd file is the file that contains all the layers that go into a particular image, So you could remove different layers and then see what happens. This means that I could hide/delete whatever to 1 of the layers, and you wouldn't be able to see it. It can be helpful for other people to see something built from the ground up, 1 layer at a time, if they want to try and replicate something similar. For instance if I remove the layer with the render on it this would happen: Edited June 2, 2013 by The Pulse Made By Me

The Pulse 210 June 2, 2013 Author Share June 2, 2013 (edited) I have art, but I don't have Photoshop. Could I send you some of my art, and then have you make a background? That would be nice, and I would find some way to repay you. I might be able to do that, I was actually thinking of making a Signature/Background shop. I say might because making digital art is a lot easier/looks better if the original image is digital art. Never the less, If you send me your images I'll try and see what I can do with it. A Knowledge of Photoshop, and a Lot of practice and lot's of layers (42 to be exact). It would probably be easier to provide a .psd then explain, but not everyone has Photoshop. And I'm not sure if gimp has the ability to open .psd files. I'll test this... EDIT: G.I.M.P. can open .psd files. But now I'm uncomfortable about someone ripping the art (taking credit for)... The Pulse 210 June 2, 2013 Author Share June 2, 2013 (edited) You mean download the image? I just checked: left click to bring up image, then scroll down until you see the "save" button on the lower right (you might need to scroll to the right a bit due to size of image). After you click save, It should bring up a new tab with just the image on it. Right click the image, and in the drop down, it'll say "save image as" click that and save the image. At least, that is how it is done in Google chrome, I don't use firefox unfortunately... but I think it should be the same.
