TARDudeIS 1 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 Equestria girls, the new my little pony spin-off/thingforustohate/bronynews etc. I think EG was something for the younger audience. No wait please don't leave the post! Seriously, do you think that a high-school style , and becoming part of human society was made for guys? I hated High School Musical and that what this is just with better, well established characters.
Rory 150 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 no duh my little pony in the first place was made for a younger audience but then we watched it and it was awesome the story of every brony right there but really the whole thing was made for a younger audience but its still a good show. Klick-Klack 299 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 I don't generally think that this whole high-school situation was brought up to to satisfy a particular age group. The creaters needed a plausible scenario, where teenage girls (The age derived from the behaviour of the mlp characters) could fit in. School, or any education board is one of the key factors for adolecents, with them spending several years going through it. Since MLP focuses on addressing human scenarios anyway, such as social structure and the relationship bewteen given individuals, school is a rather appropriate option, as all of these topics are present. I.e., lots of teenagers in one building. Plus, why can't guys watch shows about social integration?
Fhaolan 4,494 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 According to Hasbro's press releases: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - For ages 6-11 [Child] My Little Pony: Equestrican Girls - For ages 12-17 [Teen] Technically, the My Little Pony toys cover the Child and the Preschool demographic (Ages 2-11), but that's different than the current cartoon. I don't have anything to really add. I'm just tired of reading 'My Little Pony is for toddlers' and 'Equestria Girls is for little girls' posts, and felt like throwing out the age ranges these shows are supposedly officially targeting. Don't mind me.
Jammo 986 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 Friendship is magic was never for us. I don't expect this show to be directed at us either. BUT.. Doesn't mean some people outside the demographic can't connect to it.
Spring Storm 276 June 6, 2013 Share June 6, 2013 Of course EQG is for "the others". MLP was always for young girls. That said, I'm sure there will be little things here and there for us older fans to enjoy, much like the show.
