So below is a drawing I did that took me about 15-20 minutes to draw...and well I'm not exactly good...I'm 13 years old...so I mean am I good for my age??? Or what. Also, advice is needed on how to improve on my art. I'm going to improve this art piece on this thread as people give me advice on how I should improve.

A start would be when finished drawing, go back and erase your sketchmarks the best you can. Usually how I do that is by zooming in and coloring it or erasing them before coloring so if you're shading you don't have to blend it in the best you can.

Basically what im saying is, try to make your art look better in appearance. That's all.

Ok. I can totally practice that over the summer. :) Thanks. I'll edit this picture and share how it changes over time when more advice comes in. So I'll go clean up the sketch lines real quick. Thanks again. :)

The funny thing is I stink at drawing, but I love to give other ponies advice anyways and disregard my bad skills.

lol, I do that too. I really hate my art but I love to rate others art work. I don't know why...it's weird and ironic... hehe ya. Glad i'm not the only one who does that.

Actually 2 things so far. They're minor, but make a major difference.

First of all, those front hooves are connected to the body itself so there should be no line there separating them. If you look at reference pictures (I look at Pinkie) most front hooves go up a little ways after making contact with the body.

And the last small thing was that the bottom part of each hoof needs to be slightly rounded instead of having sharp edges. This is complicated to do so since they quickly curve in but with a smoother feel.

You're really starting to get there in terms of drawing. Luckily for you, you can draw digital art which makes a big impact from traditional art.

Since you can erase lines permanently without them showing up or messing the paper, its actually better to make art from there instead of traditional, but if you know how to draw with pencil and paper, then you can usually draw well from a tablet or something.

I just looked at the picture, and there's one last thing you have to fix:

The wings.

They are just like the front hooves: attached and no line that separates them. They are also skinnier in the front and then get fat to the feather-like part of the wings. I cant explain well at all, but ill try my best.

Also, the wings don't go straight up. They kinda do an up-and-out thing, which is why the wings curve in and flap.

Here's a reference to it.

Study the wing closely and apply it to your artwork. Ill see how it ends up in the future.

There is one difference though with wings that you have to pay attention to. Depending on how tall the pony is is how the wings look like. So far there was 3 different ones I've noticed. The ones from RBD, Twilight Sparkle/Princess Luna, and Princess Celestia. You may need to look in between the Twilight/Luna one since it may suit your pony the best.
