It was a warm but peaceful Sunday morning in the suburbs of Manehattan. The birds were chirping, the sky was reflecting a pure light blue, and not a single cloud was in sight. A red unicorn stallion named Sterling Crimson was just awakening from his long slumber with his wife. A purple unicorn mare named Evening Glory. They had just finished their most recent adventure with all their friends and had deserved a long and very comforting sleep. 

 

As Sterling awoke from his soft, white bed, Sterling crept over to where Evening slept. He nudged her, hoping that she would be awake soon. He whispered lovingly, "Evie... wake up..."

Evening heard a whisper and slowly opened her eyes, her dull green eyes heaved her gaze around until they rested on the Crimson stallion laying next to her, she let out a small yawn and smiled at her husband "I'm awake" she giggled sleepily "Morning.." she could hear the bird chirping happily outside, she could feel the warmth to the start of what she knew would be a great day..

Sterling always enjoyed the warm smile that glowed from Evening's face. He just couldn't live without it. After all they went through with the likes of DJ-BRONI3 and Steel Accord, this was their perfect time to finally establish themselves as a family. Ever since they first met at a tropical shipwreck, Sterling's life took a huge whirl. He went through a growing love for Evening in all of it though, from the dreaded maze of Pelopponysia to the final conflict with Raven. They even got married after the tropical odyssey they experienced, but never really goto to establish themselves as a family...

 

But before all that family stuff, Sterling had a huge surprise for Evening. He intended to keep it a secret, but he just couldn't; he was just too excited for the plans he had in store. He took out from his hood what looked like two blimp tickets. He then spoke to Evening with a soft but loving voice, "Evie... look what I got. I got us tickets to travel to Prance by blimp! It's going to be our way of relaxing from all that adventuring we did with DJ. It's going to be our honeymoon!"

Evening gasped and put her hooves over her mouth. "No way.." she whispered excitedly, her eyes wide and happy, she put her hooves down and grinned "Oh, Sterling! This is so exciting" she gave the stallion a hug with affection, she couldn't believe they were going to Prance, she had always dreamed of going there, the streets, the ponies, the aura, the gardens..

 

When she let go of him, her smile grew "When will we be going? Where abouts in Prance are we going?" she asked softly, trying to keep her excitment to a minimum, but she couldn't help but do this, she had always wanted something like this to happen, now it was happening.

Sterling was filled with delight as he hugged Evening with his own affection. Ever since he nearly died to saved Evening's life, he just couldn't bear to ever go with Evening and not show his undying love for her. This event was no exception. He bought the tickets just as Sterling got home hoping to finally enjoy a well-deserved honeymoon in the city of lovers...

 

Sterling replied with excitement as he hugged Evening tightly, "Oh Evie... we're going to Mareis! As Applejack would say, "where they speak fancy!" We're going to be doing so many things there! Going up the Neighffel Tower, walking through Mareis' old city, and most of all, having a wonderful time together through all Mareis has to offer! We'll be leaving this Wednesday! We should get packing soon, but I made sure we had a good rest from our adventure before we packed. So first Evie... a little kiss from me to you!" Sterling could clearly feel Evening's excitement as he gave her some small pecks on her cheek.

Evening giggled as Sterling gave her some pecks on her cheek, her heart was glowing with sunshine; she got to go to Mareis with Sterling for their honeymoon. The best sentence she could think of was right there, happening, in three days! After their adventure, trip like this would be great, a well deserved holiday for the couple.

As Sterling finished giving Evening the pecks, he couldn't help but feel so happy. He was never this happy all his life! Him and Evie... all alone... all the time in the world was available to him now to spend with Evie! It was the best revelation he ever felt in his whole life apart from their wedding day! He then motioned for Evening as he began to trot out of the bedroom into the staircase, "Hey Evie! Let's get breakfast ready! Then we can start packing!"

Evening smiled, she followed Sterling down to the stairs and into the kitchen. She quickly made two bowls of cereal and placed them on the dining table. As she ate her humble breakfast, her thoughts wandered of what their experience in Mareis would be, for sure it would be amazing, staying in the city of love for their honeymoon.

Sterling was happy to receive his humble breakfast of cereal in the quaint, dining room. All around him were simple appliances like stove ovens and cupboards painted in a creamy colour. Throughout his journeys he learned to take contentment and happiness in even the little things, like a simple bowl cereal. He was happy enough to be eating cereal with the love of his life. Still, he noticed Evening beginning to move into a daydream state. He responded teasingly and with a whistle, "Hehe Evie, you're really looking forward to Mareis aren't you? That dreamy look of yours... it just blows me away hehe."

Evening snapped back to reality when Sterling started talking to her, as he finished his sentence she blushed, she giggled "Yes. I'm oh so excited to go to Mareis with you. I've always wanted to go there, and I'm.. just to happy I get to go there with you" she said lovingly, taking another quick spoonful of cereal

Sterling understood where Evening was coming from. In fact, he couldn't help but imagine all the things they could do in Mareis! He especially wanted to see the many museums and especially Mareis' biggest concert hall for performances of Raveigh and many other famous Mrench composers! He replied lovingly as he finished his breakfast, "Oh Evie... I know how you feel! There's just so much to see! It'll be the first time I ever get to travel outside of Equestria in peace! And I get to do all this with the love of my life! Just before I'm set to open my clinic in Manehattan!" 

 

After Sterling had finished his breakfast, he waited patiently for Evening as he continued to imagine all the fun they could have in Mareis... Nonetheless, he knew... they had to pack all the essentials before they could even think about Mareis!

As Evening finished her last spoon of cereal, she looked up at her husband who was in a dreamy state. She giggled "C'mon then, Sterling. Lets get packing!" she exclaimed to him with a blush and another giggle, she poked him playfully as her magic put the dishes in the sink. She trotted towards the stairs, stopped at the second step to swing her around to look at him, she giggled again and continued up the stairs

Sterling was whisked out of his dreamy state by a rushing Evening as she playfully invited him over to begin packing all of their things for their impending honeymoon in Mareis...

It was now Tuesday afternoon... Sterling was just about finished packing all of his essentials, from his toothbrushes to his brushing comb to his travelling clothes. He was beginning to feel very tired from all the packing. He took a good look at the two pieces of luggage he was carrying along with him: a large dark green roller suitcase and a medium-sized silver baggage carrier. He took a breath of relief as he was finally finished. He looked around for Evening, wondering where she was... He called out to her, "Evie! I'm all done! How are things going at your end?!"

When Evening was just about to trot into the room when Sterling called for her, she trotted into the room happily with a small light blue suitcase in her mouth and her magic holding a large purple suitcase beside her. She stopped and put the light blue suitcase down infront of her "I've just finished" she replied, smiling

Sterling saw the smile on Evening's face as she came out to meet him in the room adjacent to their bedroom. He gave her a small peck on her cheek before he replied happily, "Well Evie, starting tomorrow we won't be back in this hard-wood floored room for a few weeks. We'll be seeing all the glamours of Mareis and more! The blimp will be located just a little bit away from our home. Departure time will be 9:00 am so we must make sure we wake up bright and early so we don't miss our flight!"

She grinned at Sterling, he had said over and over again but she didn't mind, they seemed to both be just so excited over this. She knew he'd have things planned, to go places, to see places, lots of exciting things to do - Oh they were going to have so much fun! A cheeky idea suddenly sparked in Evening, perhaps they could have some good, old classic fun before they went? A Small Prank could be fun, she didn't want to be mean though, she hoped she could make him chuckle instead.

 

She looked at the suitcase she had placed infront of her, the colour was the same as her horn aura.. She used her magic to place both her bags against the wall and turned to Sterling with a smile "Could you help me with the garden before we go please, Sterling?" she asked alluringly, looking into his eyes in a cutesy way

Sterling noticed Evening's alluring eyes. They were just so... irresistible to him. 'Oh Evie... you make me melt whenever you do that...' thought Sterling as he sighed happily. Nonetheless, he wondered why she needed help with her garden. After all, they just got the seeds and he thought it would get started after the honeymoon. Even with that though, he responded happily and with a giggle as he trotted to the garden with Evening, "Sure Evie! Let's go!" 

 

The garden looked pretty bare at this point with the brown soil dominating the couple's backyard, but Evening and Sterling already picked out all the locations for the garden. They even set up the garden's entrance with a gleaming white arch that acted as the starting points for the fences around the garden. Sterling continued walking into the garden, but asked with some confusion, "Hey Evie... what exactly did you need help with?"

Evening smiled as she walked through the garden's arch, the fresh, growing soil smelt amazing to her. She turned to Sterling and gave him a big smile "Just to tend to it, so the Garden loves both of us instead of just one of us" she said, she blushed and made herself look shy, like she just wanted an excuse to do something with him before they left. 

 

She turned her head towards the two water-cans to the side, and picked them both up with her magic, she offered one to Sterling with big eyes, tint of her light blue aura reflecting back in her eyes from the water-can closest to her.

As Sterling took the silver water, he began to water the plants. Everything was so peaceful as he watered the seeds. He spoke happily to Evening, "Yes indeed Evie. Growing a garden together is a lot more fun than growing a garden alone! Plus, we're going to have all my herbs on the left side, while all our vegetables and fruit will be on our right! This is going to be the best garden in all of Manehattan! Trust me on it!" Sterling continued to water with happiness throughout the brown soil as it became moist and rich, ready to grow some plants.

Evening giggled softly as Sterling watered the Garden enthusiastically, she watered some plants close to her cheerily while she conjured a Brown Water Snake from around the corner of the house, Evening still with concentration as she focused on the suns rays..

 

Evening continued to moist soil and seeds while she made her snake come around the corner silently, its four feet-long body slithered calmly towards Sterling, its body camouflaging in with its surroundings. It soon came near to Sterling's hooves, it looked up at him as he watered the ground, it hissed and flickered its tounge; its ebony eyes staring up at him.

Sterling was still watering his plants with happiness. The brown soil became more and more moist as Sterling walked around their future garden. Everything seemed perfectly fine... until Sterling heard a slither... Sterling dropped the water can and froze. He looked behind with a very, VERY fearful look and a fearful thought... 'Is... is... is... that... what... I think it is?' 

 

What he saw clearly frightened him even more. It was brown in colour and was a water snake! It certainly wasn't of the poisonous species, but Sterling HATED snakes with a passion AND with fear! He saw the brown snake looking up at him with what looked like a very lustful look. All of a sudden, Sterling jumped and screamed for dear life! "SNAKE!!! WHAT'S A SNAKE DOING HERE?!!! AAAHHHHH RUN AWAY EVIE!!! WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!!" 

 

Sterling then ran out of the garden for dear life as he then froze in a standing position. The snake still appeared to be chasing him, as if it were stalking him for his delicious meat... Sterling then cried out to Evening as he then continued to run in a frantic circle, "Evie! Save me! It's chasing me! AHHH!!!"

Evening gasped, she trotted fastly towards her illusion, trying not to trample any plants. She went on her knees and went face-to-face with it, the 'snake' stared into her eyes for a moment but soon nuzzled its head up to her cheek, she giggled as it did and she moved one of her front hooves out straight. The snake slithered up her arm and onto her back and neck, its head resting on the top of hers.

 

Its scales felt airy on her body, the illusion of it was slightly slipping from the lack of moonlight, but she tried to keep the suns grasp for just a while longer. Evening giggled "Aww, he's so cute!" she said, making her voice sound as though she had been overcome with cuteness

As Sterling continued to run frantically, he began to notice Evening walking up to the snake and... let the brown monster creep up to Evening. In fact, Evening was so welcoming to the snake that she called it cute! Sterling eventually stopped running to see Evening look so... calm and comforted with the snake, providing a very surprised look in response as he looked onward. He approached Evening carefully and then saw the snake, to which he backed off once more. He then asked Evening apprehensively, "Evie... isn't that snake dangerous?! Why are you... cuddling with it?! You should run away from it or let it out in the wild so it doesn't kill us!"

Evening chuckled, he really was scared of snakes "Oh, Sterling. It's a Brown Water Snake. They're non-venomous, they won't hurt us in the slightest" she said, holding out one front leg straight and 'letting' it slither around her leg. She smiled towards the snake, but soon cringed in pain; her horn aura flickered as the snake did, 'I.. can't.. hold it..' she thought, letting them both go out.

 

She walked toward her husband and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek. "Got you.." she whispered, smiling sweetly.

Sterling heard Evening's explanation about the brown water snake and how they were non-poisonous. Still, nothing could deter Sterling's terrible fear of snakes. He replied with a speculative look, "Still... snakes are... ugh... I... hate snakes..." As he finished saying that, he saw Evening come up to him with a soft kiss on his cheek. After she whispered to him, Sterling replied with an eye roll and then smiled. He then replied lovingly before giving her a hug and a kiss on her cheek, "Oh Evie... I should have known... You cheeky mare... hehehehe." 

 

Sterling then motioned Evening to walk back inside with him so they could complete some finishing touches before they left for Mareis...

It was the next morning. Sterling and Evening had awoken bright and early to get to their seats on their blimp ride to Mareis. The couple were hoping for a safe, relaxing 24 hour blimp ride across the Atleightic Ocean into Mareis before they touched down, especially since Sterling spent an even greater amount of his savings for a relaxing, peaceful honeymoon. There were a few other passengers also attending the ride, all of them being rich businessponies and CEOs who could afford such a luxury regularly. All of them were proper for the most part, but one stallion in particular Sterling noticed was out of place. He was a green stallion with a cider cutie mark, since he was a cider brewer. However, he looked nowhere near composed enough to be among the rich ponies, leaving Sterling wondering why he was on this blimp ride anyway.

 

Nonetheless, Sterling gave the two tickets to the ticketmaster, who gladly allowed them on the blimp. All the other ponies were also in attendance, including the green stallion as they all boarded. As Sterling sat in his seat, he made sure to sit comfortably and tightly as the blimp began to take off...
