"Let's take a few minutes, first. I mean, we still gotta check our houses and find a house sitter." He said lazily, almost not wanting to get up. "Hm...Applejack? Nah, she has enough work on the farm. Bon Bon? Roseluck?" He wasn't quite sure who to pick. "What do you think?"

Winterglade nodded in agreement. Asking for somepony to take care of their house seemed to be a very good idea. Now Fender reminded her, she was a tad worried that her house might've been broken into. "Bon Bon? She's already busy enough with her candy store. Roseluck works together with her two sister, they might be able to check our house every once in a while," she mused. "Roseluck it is, then! And you, get off the seat you lazypants. We have three mares to talk with!" She quickly ushered Fender to stand up and trotted out of the cabin.

Winterglade practically bounced off the train and galloped around in circles in the snowfall. The cold temperature was enough to send shiver down anypony's back, but it felt comfortable on her fur. She laughed happily. "Wow! It's almost unbelievable it's been two months since we left this town! Fender, come on and get your butt cold in here with me."

He joined his wife in the snow. This setting seemed more than natural for her. "You look so beautiful." He said, not even thinking. He didn't take it back, though. To him, she was absolutely gorgeous. The thought almost took him back to the wedding. He tried to focus again, and looked at the town around him. The Cakes waved at him, so he waved back. He felt happy to be back in Ponyville. Almost a month in Manehattan sort of made him forget what it was like to be in Ponyville. It felt right. "Hey, let's go find Roseluck then." He smiled.

"You look so beautiful."

"You're also cute yourself, Skysong," chuckled Winterglade, her cheeks flared in the snowfall. She trotted closer to give Fender a quick kiss. The stallion looked a bit dazed for a moment, but Winterglade couldn't took notice of it as she was too busy waving her hoof excitedly to the Cakes family. She just gotta buy some of their muffins before the train left.

"Hey, let's go find Roseluck then." He smiled.

Winterglade nodded. "All right it is!" She looked around for to remind her for any familiar landmarks before trotting to the west. Things certainly looked different under the blanket of snow. On their path, the pair came across a lone Bon Bon, a huge cart filled to the brim with candy supplies pulled behind her. "Hey there, Bon Bon! How are you do-"

"Just a matter of time you two show up! Why didn't you tell us that you're leaving the city for a vacation?" Bon Bon asked loudly, looking a bit annoyed at the pair. A green unicorn mare curiously peeked her head behind her from among the sugar sacks.

"Well, that's-" Winterglade tried to stammer out an excuse, but Bon Bon quickly interjected. The pegasus whimpered.

"No, no need to tell me your excuses," Bon Bon rolled her eyes. She pulled a key from her saddlebag; the key to Winterglade and Fender's home. "Next time, before you leave the town, make sure that you took the spare key along with you. I found this one under the doormat. You're lucky I did before the filly crusaders did." She then looked at Fender. "Where have you two been?"

He had to admit, Bon Bon was quite frightening when she was angry. He leaned in to whisper to Winterglade, "Perhaps we shouldn't tell her that she missed the wedding..."

Winterglade chuckled uneasily. She whispered back to Fender, "That's a very good idea there." She felt bad for not inviting anypony from Ponyville, but she had agreed to her mother to only invite those who were really close to her to reduce the wedding's expense. She turned to the candy mare. "That's right, Bon Bon. My mother suddenly fell very ill, and... yeah. I'm really sorry I didn't have any chance to say anything to everypony in here."

Bon Bon looked almost apologetic, her lips pursed. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. Is she doing okay now?"

Winterglade was rather uncertain on how to continue, but she said it anyway. "Her condition's calming down for now, but I need to keep an eye on her for another two weeks until my father come back from his work. And I was hoping that..."

Again, Bon Bon quickly interjected. She shook her head "Say no more! I'll take care your house for you. I've been doing it for weeks now, another two weeks wouldn't be so hard." She trotted closer to Winterglade and Fender and gave the stallion a pat to the shoulder. "Take care of her, would you? See you later, guys. These candies won't make themselves!" With that, she trotted past the pair straight to her own house.

On the top of the cart, Lyra giggled as she carried past by. The unicorn whispered under her breath, "Enjoy the honeymoon!"

On the top of the cart, Lyra giggled as she carried past by. The unicorn whispered under her breath, "Enjoy the honeymoon!"

Fender's face blazed red, and blankened. He let Lyra pass by, and look at Winterglade, "Did she just...? How did she know?" Fender was dumbfounded as to how Lyra could've even guessed, until he thought about it. "Do they just expect it of us now?" He chuckled as he entered their house for the first time in nearly a month.

Inside, it smelled, looked, and felt like it always had. Lights on. He sat down for a moment. "It feels good to be home." A smile grew on his face.

"That's..." Winterglade's cheeks was already red from the cold, but somehow Lyra's passing comment managed to make her even redder. "Maybe she have a good hearing?" She finally chuckled and followed Fender into their house. She would have to buy those two some souvenirs from Vanhoover.

"Yeah..." Slowly Winterglade trotted around the living room for a bit. It certainly felt like it was just yesterday she had a dinner with Fender in the house. She sniffed the cupboard. The woody scent was familiar, Bon Bon did a great job keeping the house clean. She then sat next to Fender and threw a naughty smile. "Maybe when we get home in two weeks, we can buy ourselves a new bed?"

Fender laughed, "Still excited about yesterday, huh? Well, I think we could arrange that." He winked, with a sly grin. "I wonder if Autumn and Hot Wing are having fun clearing the scent out of that room..." He said sarcastically, and raised an eyebrow at the thought. Of course they wouldn't be. He rolled his eyes, then looked back at Winterglade, "So, wanna visit anypony else before my family, and before we have to leave?"

Winterglade laughed out loud hearing the comment. She tried holding back the laughter, but it came out as snorts. She wheezed and jabbed Fender's stomach playfully. "Oh you... They can easily detach the entire room from the house and dump it to the ocean," she snickered. "That, or they could peel the floor and the wall off by one inch with a shovel."

"So, wanna visit anypony else before my family, and before we have to leave?"

"Um... no?" Winterglade replied, unsure. She had been certain that she wanted to visit her father and mother-in-law, but now she felt a bit scared at the prospect. She then reminded herself that there was a good chance that this would be her only chance to meet them, she didn't want to make Fender remember about the pain more than once. "I think we are ready to visit them now." She smiled

"Alright," He said, plainly. It was strange, he didn't feel as hurt anymore about the memory, or there lack of, of his family. It was like Winterglade, Hot Wing, Cypher, Autumn Glow, and Morning Mist all filled the 'family' gap in his life. He would still miss he real family, of course, but he realized now that he finally accepted his loss.

They made it to the tombstones, after a bit of searching. Fender stared at the three tombstones. He was sad, though not enough to show it. At the same time, however, he was relieved. He knew for sure he once had a family, and has a new one in the present.

"Mom, Dad, Sister..." He didn't know their names, even though they were on the tombstones. This was simply where he was told they were  buried. At the time he lost them, he was too young to remember anything really specific about them. It only felt right to call them by 'Mom, Dad, and Sister.'

"This is Winterglade."

Winterglade followed Fender's hoofsteps. Her mind raced with dozens of thought. She would see those who had brought Fender to this world, those who had torn away from him on such an early age. After a bit of searching, they made it to the tombstones. The tombstones were... unlike the ones she had seen in her dreams. The snowfall, the trees, and the stones were familiar, but there was another one on the side. A part of her was relieved, that Fender's family was not the ones in her dreams. But now there was a slight worry on who those two tombstones would belong to. She slid closer to Fender.

"This is Winterglade."

"H-Hi." Winterglade tried to force a smile. "I'm Winterglade, and I, um, married to your son, Fender. I'm happy to see you here, mom, dad," she stuttered the words out. Now more than anything she wanted to scold herself for not thinking up an appropriate line to speak of. Suddenly her knees felt weak, but she held her ground.

She looked at the tombstones and stepped forward. She wanted to know them by their names, to see and greet each of them by her own hooves. To hear and to see them in persons, but... She took a deep breath and exhaled it before she spoke, "You don't have to worry about Plainsong Skyjumper. I-I'll take care of him, keep him safe. I'll keep him company in times of sorrow and cold. I'll love him, until death has taken hold on both of us, so you can... be at ease." She gulped; she hoped that Fender would be okay with her words. "Rest in peace, mom, dad."

Fender noticed her stammering, and sounding like she might lose her balance, so he supported her. He held her up and hugged her, and began rocking her slowly all at once. When she finished speaking, he kissed her on the cheek, "Thank you." He wouldn't hide it; the atmosphere of the grave yard made him feel a bit more sad about the whole ordeal, but having come here to do this was a sort of relief for Fender, and Winterglade's words were a comfort. He turned back to the tombs. "I love you guys." He said before he turned both himself and Winterglade toward Ponyville, and lead them there.

In the town, everything was alive, as usual: Applebloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, and Babs were making a snowpony. Rarity was showing off her newest designs for boots and scarves. Twilight was locked inside of the library, studying. Spike was following Rarity's every move. The small town was still the most lovely place to be. Fender looked at Winterglade, "It's almost time to go. Are you okay?"

Winterglade closed her eyes when Fender kissed her. She was glad that she didn't said anything wrong. She leaned herself on Fender for support and fluttered her wings a bit. Being around the tombstones had somehow sapped her strength. She followed Fender closely as they trotted back to Ponyville.

"It's almost time to go. Are you okay?"

Everything in Ponyville looked so serene under the cold sunlight. Fillies playing around, mares talking to each other, couples sharing each others body warmth. Up above, a couple of weather team pegasi flew around in circles, playing tag with fresh snowballs. Winterglade chuckled. "I'm so gonna miss this place, Fender," she hiccuped. "Yes, I think I'm okay. I'm sorry..." One last look to the town, she started trotting back to the station. She hated being so emotional in the occasion. At least Fender's coat felt so warm against hers.

On the way, they came across Sugarcube Corner, but unfortunately it was closed for the day. Winterglade groaned. "There goes the sweet muffins.. Hey, did you remember that basket of muffins I was eating when you first met me?"

He laughed, even though she was emotional at the current time. "I don't think we ever finished those muffins." He smiled at her. "We'll have to go for another bucket of em sometime" He grinned, "Come on, let's get back to the train."

The two boarded and went back to their room.

"Lets!" Winterglade cheered. She hummed a fancy tune to herself as they trotted to the station, and onto the train. The herd of engineers had dispersed, it seemed whatever it was that broke the train had been taken care off.

In their room, they were greeted with a sight of a basket filled with cookies on their seat. Winterglade cautiously trotted to it, wary that there might be a rat hiding in the confections, and took a small piece of paper wedged under it. "Huh. 'Thank you for your kindness. Have some cookies. We made it with our own hooves. Have fun! Signed, Wonder Shrine and... Springsteps?' Looks like they have met together with the rest of their clan!" She sniffed the cookie. Mmm, looked like they put a bit too much chocolate chips in there. She was about to grab a bite when the train suddenly jolted forward, throwing the surprised mare to Fender.

The couple crashed onto the floor, Winterglade on top of Fender. He laughed, "Oi! Let's not get freaky until we get there!" He continued laughing, and pecked her on the cheek several times during his laughter. "I love you, so much." He hugged her tightly so she couldn't get up, he was feeling a bit playful. "It's time to start our honeymoon! Can you believe it?" He said excitedly.

Winterglade laughed heartily along with Fender, the blush of her cheeks returned with a vengeance. "I love you too, you sillypants." She tried to get up, but Fender's strong hooves were around her. Her hooves struggled uselessly. She whined. "Aaaah, Fender!I want my cookies."

Sensing Fender wasn't about to release her anytime soon, she wiggled and turned in his grip, finally facing the stallion. She kissed his lips and lingered there for a while, savoring the moment. When she was done she rested curled her hooves around him. "You're just full of surprises, aren't you?" she giggled and raised an eyebrow. "Do you want to start it right now?" This time, her voice carried a wicked tone.

He grew a sly grin. "I dunno, I'm still a little exhausted from the last time." He pecked her lips. "Buuut, then again...you do make a very enticing offer, my love." He sighed, "Then again...again, we may not want to cause noise complaints." He chuckled, "C'mon, let's enjoy the cookies."

Winterglade pouted. She was sure that she wasn't THAT loud during their last time. Fender had pulled her to a cuddle first, now she felt a bit left out. She rolled her eyes in a faked exasperation. "Fine... But you owe me a big one," she stick out her tongue and and released Fender. "I get the ones with more chips!"

The train slowly accelerated to its full speed, heading straight to Vanhoover. On the way, the train came across a flock of dozens of pegasi flying below the cloud. The sound of flapping wings could be heard even from inside the cabin. Winterglade found herself staring at the flock in amazement, even when her hooves simply wouldn't stop digging for cookies from the basket. "That's a lot of pegasi..." she mused. The lingering cold temperature slowly lulled her to sleepiness. Before she know it, she was fast asleep on Fender's shoulder.

...

That night, the train finally arrived in Vanhoover's station. The station itself was rather big, slightly larger than the Ponyville's station, but with only two trains under its roof the entire building looked a bit deserted on the most part. A handful of station attendees could be seen galloping back and forth to take care of the new train and its passengers. Winterglade groggily woke up and looked about. Her brain was still on a hibernate mode. "Uh... Are we there yet?"

Fender was half-asleep, he had simply been napping, ready to wake at any time. He woke up quickly, "Hm? Oh...yeah we're here, let's get our bags."

With their luggage they exited the train, got processed through the station, and walked out into Vanhoover. The large city was already alive in the morning. It was like a colder Manehattan...though somehow...different. The city seemed cleaner than Manehattan, that was for sure. Fender turned to Winterglade, "So, shall we find a hotel?" he smiled.

"Hum...? Oh, yeah. Our luggage!" Winterglade's sleepiness took a sudden turn to excitement. They were in the Vanhoover! In no time the pair took out their bags, with Fender pulling the heavier one while Winterglade carrying the small one around her neck. They trotted out of the train.

Winterglade took a deep breath of the Vanhoover's fresh air. The town was almost look like a younger version of Manehattan. A few skyscrapers here and there, a stadium on the north end, and lots of colorful building of various types pilfered all over the place. The sun slowly rose from the eastern mountain, bathing the land with its warmth. Winterglade giggled. "Hotel? No need for that! We already have our ride over there." She motioned to a pony-drawn carriage across the street. The puller was bearing a logo of the villa the pair would spend their honeymoon in for the next two weeks. Winterglade squeed in delight. "Come, I can't wait to see what the place looks like!"

"That's right! I forgot." He chuckled, "I'm with you, love."

The two boarded the carriage, and in no time they arrived at the villa. It was well decorated on the outside. "Come on!" Fender said excitedly. The couple exited the carriage and approached the front door. "Well...let's see it."

The trip to the villa was a relatively short one. The carriage led them around the station and to the road climbing the mountainside. At that hour in the morning, the road looked deserted, other than their carriage only a couple of elder ponies could be seen jogging down the road. Winterglade was busy looking around the sight of the city and the mountain view when the carriage went through a massive gate. Everything looked so surreal under the dawn sunlight, even the usually dull security posts looked beautiful. When they arrived in front of the villa, Winterglade nearly lost her breath. The building was easily three times wider than her house in Ponyville, and much of its elevated bulk was hidden by the surrounding shrubberies.

The couple exited the carriage and approached the front door. "Well...let's see it."

Winterglade gave the carriage puller a generous tip and galloped to join Fender. She gasped in awe. "This... is huge! Just how could Autumn get any reservation for this place?" she wondered. But then again it was likely she would never know the answer. She trotted to the front door and unlocked it using the key Autumn gave her.

The living room was spacious enough to accommodate ten ponies with room to spare. The interior was painted white, other than a wide couch facing an open balcony at the west side, it was sparsely furnished. A couple of potted plant here and there and a painting of Celestia flourished the room's wall. "This is huge indeed!" She giggled and bounced around the room. "Hey, maybe we can watch the sunset from here?" she asked while trotting to inspect the balcony closer, excitement was clear in he voice.

Elsewhere in the villa, a large dining area along with the kitchen could be found on the far side of the room, just beside the bathroom. On the other side there was a door that lead to the main bedroom, but it was currently locked. A couple of small refrigerators nested near the front door, a small telephone unit could be seen just between them.

I'm terrible at describing a house XD

Fender was as amazed at the space as Winterglade was, though he didn't show it in the same way, he simply stood there speechless, while she was bouncing off of every surface. After taking it in, he grabbed her and slowed her down. Laughing, he remarked calmly, "Hey, we've got time, let's get settled in." he set the luggage down in the middle of the room.

"But the Vanhoover skyline is so gorgeous..." Winterglade pouted. Nevertheless she obediently sat there beside Fender, taking off her bag onto the table. She rummaged through it for a bit before fishing out the keys around the building. "There it is! And... What should we do now? Breakfast, or... something else?" She rocked herself back and forth, waiting for Fender's answer. Her eyes looked him expectantly. There was an idea inside her mind, but she didn't want to push her own agenda to the stallion.
