Trying something new with eyes

Welp, as the title says, trying something a little different than usual for eyes. Well, in this case, eye. Because it's a side profile. I also tried a few other new techniques, in terms of coloring. Sped the process up a bit. So... yeah, critique plz.

It looks good, but I actually prefer how he looks in your signature.  The sig gives a more definite look to the lighting, rather than the fuzzy edge which to me, looks like he's gazing into a crystal ball and bedazzled! I guess it depends on what he's doing in the scene. 

 

Cool that you're trying out new things though.
