Professor Ambigram has been planning for this expedition from afar for years. Ever since the castle of the Royal Pony Sisters was rediscovered by the Elements of Harmony, it has been his goal to be the first to set an archaeological venture to the heart of the Everfree forest. With his savvy political wrangling, the kudos for any finds would go to him without ever having to leave his cosy office in CSGU.

All is prepared and the team is about to get underway, until a missive signed by Princess Luna’s personal Guard brings everything to a grinding halt. Something strange is driving the creatures of the deep forest to its edges, threatening the safety of local towns. Unnatural energies are emanating from the darkest part of the wilds, apparently centred on the old ruins. Ambigram finds his precious expedition rested from his grasp and himself forced to join the dangerous venture as the princess’s guard requisitioning the entire team, changing their goal from ‘preservation’ to ‘investigation’.

But what will they find down here, in darkest relic of Equestria’s history?

• Rule 1 : We’re here to explore one another’s writing style, so keep yourself interested in what you create and don’t be afraid to experiment with stylistic changes.
