Zerrodo 104 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 I decided against posting this in the Requests Guild subforum as I cannot really gaurantee that I'll model something someone suggests, and this is more for just practice. To any staff, sorry if this is the wrong place. I've wanted to practice my 3D modeling for a while now, but whenever I actually decide I want to, I have no idea what to model. Anything I can think of usually doesn't have many useful references available anywhere that I - as a beginner - could use, so I thought I'd try starting a thread and taking suggestions. I can't gaurantee that I'll end up modeling whatever any of you suggest, or that I'll finish modeling it if I give it a try. If you have an idea of something I could model, please make sure you give a decent reference image, preferably with a front and side view image for me to work with. So, any ideas/suggestions/requests? Thanks in advance.
Slaigh 118 August 1, 2013 Share August 1, 2013 Well, I don't do 3D anymore, but when I started I first made an airplane; a F-35 Fighter Jet to be specific, but it turned into a showy prototype. Here it is: Maybe make another jet and we could make a dogfight! But seriously maybe this can help cause some sort of inspiration for you! Do you like Ponies? Do you like Science? Of course you do! So why not put your computer's unused computing power to aid researchers in fighting diseases? "But my computer isn't good enough for science!" Of course it is, any computer or laptop can run the program. Head on over to http://bronyathome.org/ to learn how you can help!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 777 August 1, 2013 Share August 1, 2013 (edited) My suggestion would be to start out simple! Start modeling something as simple as a chair or table until you get used to the tools and program you're using. Once you have a good handling on 3d modeling build up from those simple shapes such as buildings or weapons. I mean sure, it's not as glorious as modeling a character or a complex vehicle but ya don't want to get in over your head for something you're not prepared for. There's plenty of resources available and it's only a google search away. Lets start off slow, try to model this blueprint of a chair. Take it slow, take it easy, then build up from it and experiment! Good luck Edited August 1, 2013 by Accellerant ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ If you do not GO after what you want, you'll never have it.
