akalink 163 August 1, 2013 Share August 1, 2013 (edited) I just realized I wrote Pie's Brew instead of Pinkie's Brew. Now I feel like an idiot. This was one of my favorite remixes to do, yet it seamed to have no resonance with anyone else. I'm looking for some new hears to let me know what could make this better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EysPPNLOS0k Edited August 1, 2013 by akalink
Mane Sax 46 August 2, 2013 Share August 2, 2013 I actually really liked it. My first thought was that it sounded like it was video game music. I will say there is once or twice where the singing starts a little early, but otherwise, I liked it. Keep it up!!
akalink 163 August 2, 2013 Author Share August 2, 2013 I would put in kicks, not the digital one.Same with clap, I would make Pinkie's voice deeper, close to the original. At 1:00, I would make that clap louder, or replace it with a non digital one. Your voice at 1:35 has sidechain I can tell, but you need less of it. Way to much sidechain. I like how it was digital, but I would personally add Piano in it. (If you use FL Studio you can use FL Keys.) I cannot tell if there is bass or not, but you need to add/turn it up a little. Not trying to be mean friend, just trying to help you out If you have any other questions you can message me on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Colgatelicious Good day! Thanks these kind of comments mean a lot. I'm probably going to have to overhaul on EQ to get the Pinkie voice better (its really my voice speed up 100% in audacity). I've been rethinking the drum part so I'm glad someone thinks likewise. I don't use FL studio (I personally hate the daw), but originally the song was going to have piano, it didn't sound good so I reworked it so it wouldn't need piano. Freewave 1,145 August 3, 2013 Share August 3, 2013 Yeah the chiptune part sounds fine. But the up pitched vocals while not awful just seem a bit ....shticky. Again its definitely got a unique feel to it (kind of a Barnes and Barnes - Fish Heads similarity) but its been remixed so many times and this is a bit... odd so its hard to say its a song that would rally anyone. But it stands on its own two feet for sure and sounds ok. I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM. Check out the 20+ Musician project Maressey which I am running. Check out the Brony Music Directory and FimMusic. akalink 163 August 3, 2013 Author Share August 3, 2013 (edited) Thanks everyone. I think I've made it better, it certainly has more drive. I tried to make the vocals sound better, they sound slightly different but better. My voice has high overtones as is so when I speed it up it made for some really high overtones. I tried to boost some of the lower ones and cut back on the higher ones. It still doesn't sound perfect, but I'm kind of okay with that. edit here is the file. Beware I haven't converted it to any lossy format yet so it big https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59190471/pinkie's%20brew1.wav Edited August 3, 2013 by akalink
