Animating and Art resources

Can anyone tell me some good software to use for animating and creating artwork, Microsoft paint sucks and windows movie maker is not going to do anything for me. all help is appreciated

If you're looking to create vectors, InkScape seems to be the best choice. It works fairly well and is generally reliable.

 

I've heard that PaintTool SAI works well for drawing in general, but I really don't know .-.

 

As for animations, I honestly don't know anything. Sorry! Hope this helps anyways

Adobe Flash

Adobe After Effects (Mostly used for composting, motion graphics, editing, effects animation, and general post-production. Almost always used together with Flash)

ZBrush

Mudbox

 

3D Animating/modeling:

 

Maya

3ds Max

Cinema 4D

 

There are plenty of others, but those are some of the more commonly used pieces of software. Hope that helped.
